lhayler Posted December 27, 2022 #1 Ā Share Posted December 27, 2022 Morning. We are travelling on Majestic Princess to NZ on 3rd Jan. My mother eats Kefir (a fermented yogurt type drink) everyday to keep regular. As I imagine this would not be available on board, would she be permitted to bring her own with her and store in the cabin fridge?Ā
buchhalm Posted December 27, 2022 #2 Ā Share Posted December 27, 2022 I'm not sure about it being permitted,Ā but apart from that the fridges in the cabins don't seem to be cold enough Ā More like a cooler box than a fridge at home. How about normal yoghurt and prunes? Every half decent ship has those....
By The Bay Posted December 27, 2022 #3 Ā Share Posted December 27, 2022 I cannot see any problems taking it onboard. It would possibly be not allowed off the ship, if you had any left over.
Rare cruiser3775 Posted December 27, 2022 #4 Ā Share Posted December 27, 2022 The Princess cruises FAQ says: May I bring my own food on a Princess cruise? The only food that Princess always permits onboard is pre-packaged items, such as breakfast bars or snacks. Most fresh food is subject to customs restrictions and is highly discouraged. windsor26 Posted December 27, 2022 #5 Ā Share Posted December 27, 2022 My cousin was in need of a special yoghurt and mackezins beer for his medical problems before he passed and we asked Princess and got a letter advising that as a special he could bring them on boardĀ
GUT2407 Posted December 27, 2022 #6 Ā Share Posted December 27, 2022 Never had an issue taking food on, but not off.

Ā Only with the written permission of Princess. It might be a good idea to get a note from her doctor before asking.

Rare MicCanberra Posted December 29, 2022 #9 Ā Share Posted December 29, 2022 If not wanting to go through the getting the letter from Princess, then perhaps take on a substitute food or pills that is not dairy. Metamucil or Senakot.

valantine80 Posted December 30, 2022 #11 Ā Share Posted December 30, 2022 My husband used Metamucil for years but has now switched to Coloxyl with Senna tablets, much easier to manage when travelling and is happy with results.
