HAVE IT ALL OFFER ON ROTTERDAM

I’m trying to figure out if it is worth booking a HAVE IT ALL fare but can’t find a way to compare the inclusive vs the component prices:

it seems that I need a booking to access the various costs on the HAL site.

. What I need is, for example

1. Daily cost of lower level wi fi and is it per device or per cabin?

2. Drink cost such as club soda, cappuccino, glass of wine at dinner. Predictable bottle of wine in MDR

    Signature per day rate.

3. Pinnacle meal pp.

4. Any way to predict ship excursion prices (there are only two stops on the NY-Rotterdam crossing).

The upcharge on this 13 day cruise is about $1000 pp for Have it All.

Thanks:

Susan

1. Wifi is the Surf package ($15/day)

2. Drinks are fairly typical prices ($5/fancy coffee, $7-15 for most alcoholic drinks, not sure about sodas). Signature package is $54.95 (I think) + 18%.

3. Pinnacle is $39 last I saw it.

4. Excursions range from $50-$5000+ depending on what you do, but typically are $80-150 for most of what we've done.

We have found the Have It All package worth it for us so far, we break even somewhere around 5 drinks total (coffees, cocktails).

Here is the per person Internet cost for 1 device. Each person on the HIA booking receives an account.

For drink and meal prices see https://rogerjett-photography.com/   The Signature Beverage package costs about $50 per day (including the 18% service charge)

Shore excursions can run as low as $40 and can exceed several hundred for private excursions. You can use the Shore Excursion credits on multiple excursions or just one.

That is high. I added the HIA two weeks after booking at $50/pp/pd.  Your HIA should be $1300 total.

I break out the $50 per day (approximately):

$15 spec rests/excursions

$10 wifi

$35 drinks  (and at $9-$11/per glass of wine, I drink WAY more than $35 a day!)

I think the OP is comparing the Best Price fare (non-refundable deposit) with the Best Value fare (refundable deposit and HIA). Part of the difference is due to the refundable deposit. I always use the Advantage fare (refundable deposit but not HIA) for comparison purposes. The Advantage price is not shown on the Website but can be obtained by calling or estimating by adding the deposit to the Best Price fare.

Related / unrelated.  Looking at the same(ish) cruise 18-day ex-NYC.  Seeing the same sort of pricing gradient for the cabin we're looking at.  Have not sailed since HIA's introduction?   Is HIA (or CO) ever pitched as an upsell post booking?  ie offered with some sort of sweetener / incentive post booking but pre sailing?  And is that via the booking agency, or direct to the end consumer (ie me)  Initial booking would be a self-serve booking via an high-volume, cruise-only TA.  Scott.

Rules/processes might be different for the UK, but in the US,  if you don't book HIA when you book the cruise, HAL will send offers via email, probably more than once. I book through a TA and the offer for HIA was sent directly to me. The going rate is $50 per person per day.

I noticed that the HIA package is "Available for most fare types" according to the HAL website. But the T&C's don't specify which fare types are exclued. Anyone know?

In November, on a 7 day complimentary casino cruise HIA was offered...$350pp.  We purchased it about a week before we left..

On our upcoming May cruise, a 16 day complimentary casino cruise it is not.  It was previously, but no longer.

I just put my deposit down on the 13-DAY 150TH Anniversary Transatlantic April 6-19 and had worked it out as the following:

*Note: 3 Star Mariner which may or may not have affected how much OBC we received*

Inside $750 pp (Room Only) = $57.69 per day

Inside $1559 pp (Have it All) I paid an extra $20 for the room we wanted. =$119.92 per day

That is a $809.00 difference PP for HIA.

The perceived PP benefits are this:

  • Signature Beverage Package = $689.52 x 18% gratuity = $813.63
  • Surf Wi-Fi = $15 per day = $195.00
  • Specialty Dining (2 credits per person) = $46 (Pinnacle Grill) x 2 = $92.00
  • Excursion Credits ($100 credit per excursion x 2) = $200
  • OBC $ 150

Total Benefits Received = $1,450.63 per person

Total cost to upgrade to Have It All = $809

Total Savings = $641.63

For what its worth - I noticed on my upcoming 7 day Caribbean cruise (from a casino free cabin offer) HAL is offering HIA for $50 per day as an add-on.  This includes $100 for excursions, free wifi and a specialty dinner.  Not a bad deal IMO.

We bought it for our 2024 transatlantic but did not buy it for our 2023 transatlantic.  The 2024 HIA is considerably better than the 2023 because it includes top internet package, top drink package and prepaid gratuities.  Here is how we evaluated it.  Your mileage may vary.

We tallied the cost of all of the HIA type expenses we are likely to incur on the cruise and then compared that to the HIA cost.  We kept in in mind that everyone in your cabin has to buy HIA if one does.  So, unless you are traveling solo, the comparison has to be for 2 passengers, not just solo.

HIA costs we will always incur:  internet, excursions and specialty restaurant.  One of us does not drink alcohol and the other is a light drinker, so we ordinarily do the alcoholic beverages a la cart.

For the 2023 14 day transatlantic the HIA items we would buy is the internet package ($352), shore excursions ($400) and 1 dinner each at PG and Tamarind ($160).  So, we would be spending $912 plus drinks if we did not buy the HIA.  HIA is $1400 for the 2 of us.  We would have to spend $35 per day between us for drinks to break even. We decided to roll the dice and go ala carte.  If either of us were even a moderate drinker, purchasing HIA would be a no brainer.

For the 2024 14 day transatlantic, the items we would buy are the premium internet package ($352), shore excursions ($400), 1 dinner each at PG and Tamarind ($160), prepaid gratuities ($454).  We would be spending $1,366 plus drinks if we went ala carte.  The cost of HIA was $1540.  We only need to spend $13 per day between us on drinks to break even.  Purchasing HIA was a no brainer even though we don’t spend much on alcohol.

Welcome to Cruise Critic @hellokate!  The Signature Beverage Package is actually $44.95/day plus 18% gratuity equals $53.04/day.  13 days will be $689.52 including gratuity.  Better!

Hi Nancy - Thanks for the welcome, not new though... just a new user name.

The Signature Beverage Package if bought prior to sailing is $44.95 per day.

If bought onboard it is $54.95 per day. When I quickly grabbed the price late last night I took the total from my cart and erroneously added tax on it a second time based on the verbiage but did not go through the checkout process to verify.

Pre-Paid = $689.52 including gratuity

Bought onboard = $842.93 including gratuity

That brings my per person savings to either $517.52 if pre-buy or $641.63 if onboard. Still worth it for us.

I’m totally impressed with the knowledge shared in response to my inquiry, and grateful to everyone giving time to sharing their experience & expertise.

i booked today with a cabin in VH and await further communications from HAL (cross fingers). At the least I will add Quench and wi fi if no big offers are not forthcoming.

SO glad to be back to HAL after several years of poor timing & TA schedules. I really love this cruise line!

Thanks to everyone.

Sorry to intrude, noob on HAL cruising as we usually do Princess or NCL (we do have one HAL cruise though!)

We are looking at replacing our Princess Alaska with a Westerdan sailing in August.  Does Westerdam have an Elite Beverage Package option?  Can one upgrade from the Have It All?

Yes, you can upgrade onboard for about $10 pp pd as long as you do it before ordering any beverage. It includes beverages up to $15 menu price rather than $11 for the Signature Beverage Package.

However, it might not be worth it, depending upon how much and what you drink. Starting in fall of 2022, passengers with the Signature package paid only the difference plus 18% between menu cost and $11. Previously, they paid full menu price plus 18%.

Thanks!   Only changes the $ from 11 to 15, correct?   Doesn't really seem to be much, so probably not worth it.  Do non-alcohol drinks count towards the 15 per day, or is that alcohol only?  I'm known for having, at breakfast:  Coke Zero, Bloody Mary, Energy drink, OJ (fresh squeezed if availabe) and a water.  The wait staff found my liquid needs amusing.
