Thank you. The app shows a Cakebread anderson valley I believe and they are out. I did try their Italian Bordeaux and we drank it last night. I can see tomorrow if they have a substitute. Cheers!

Thanks....the Cakebread was good. Previously we enjoyed Cherry Pie Pinot on EDGE. Will have to try the Italina Bordeaux...if they have it. We're really looking forward to our cruise on EDGE next month.

Here is our restaurant ranking in order after now trying all we booked on The Edge.

1. Eden

2. Luminae

3. Raw on 5

4. Fine Cut Steakhouse

Oceanview Cafe Pizza is really good too but was more of a snack.

I could tell from your photos and description why Eden was your favourite. But why was Fine Cut your least favourite? You didn’t talk about it in your review.

Good morning from The Edge at sea realizing we are back to reality Monday. 😂 So Fine Cut was last night and we haven’t posted it yet.

The food was OK, not special. The Dover Sole was cooked like it was on a buffet for an hour, hard, little sauce and low temperature.  When you compare the halibut and turbot experiences in Luminae, this was a travesty to this high end fish.

The bone in filet was well done and sent back. The second one was cooked right, had a much higher temperature than the first but the blue cheese crust was flavorless. The bordelaise sauce was flavorless.  And the filet I felt was flavorless.

Both our salads were really good as well as both desserts.

It took a while for the staff to figure out where our pre-decanted wine was.

The server was extremely nice, but the service overall was  very slow. We started pouring our own wine from the decanter, which I actually prefer.

Food = C+

Service = B-

Eden gets A marks above, in contrast and has much fewer guests each evening.  We will be removing the Fine Cut venue on our future cruises.

Hope this helps.  Cheers!

Wednesday we enjoyed Luminae as it was roasted turbot night. Here is what we ordered with pictures:

Amuse Bouche: Ham coquet

Smoked tomato soup

Roasted turbot

Almond cake

Chocolate ganache tart

We really enjoyed this meal.

Cheers!

Thursday we didn’t see much on the menus that caught our eye, so it was a good night to do Raw in 5. Checking in we saw Vishal who was in Luminae March 2022 sailing, but now has been promoted to a manager. He took very nice care of us and it is always good to see friendly faces.

Edamame

Raw oysters

Spicy shrimp stir-fry

Spicy tuna, snow crab and avocado roll I created. Jalapeño slices and spicy mayo on the side. The picture was after I dug into.

Pre-ordered the burgundy wine, $89 and really approachable.

Overall, we really enjoy Raw on 5 and will continue to go.

Cheers!

Friday was Fine Cut Steakhouse after our 5th and final port day. As I posted previously this was not our favorite and will remove from our future cruise list.

The King Caesar salad

The steakhouse wedge

Pan-Seared Dover Sole

Bone-in filet mignon

Apple walnut cobbler

Double chocolate brownie

We brought one of our four bottles of wine, Quintessa 2010.

Cheers!

Day 9 daily, at Sea.

I think we should be caught up on our dining now. Probably a few excursions Cameron has pictures of that are needed.

Cheers from the Edge as we get rebalanced!

Photos from our day in Antigua on the Catamaran and Lobster Lunch sail. Lobster was grilled on the back of the boat.  Usually a catamaran bar only has a few drink choices.  This one had many, many choices (red wine, white wine, prosecco, beer, rum punch, pina colada-ish drink, water, sodas, and maybe a couple more and all were free.  One of our favorite excursions and Antigua is beautiful.

Night #9 is lobster 🦞 night!  Rack of lamb 🐑 too!

Last bottle of wine I brought
Amuse Bouche: Buffalo Ricotta (not pictured, ate it)
Shrimp cocktail
Rack of lamb
Lobster
“Luminae” baked Alaska
Chocolate bar
Italian Grappa Digestivo (drink)

The rack of lamb was SO much better than the Fine Cut steak last night and the lobster was SO much better than the Dover Sole too.

This was our last dinner with Biswajit and I Made.  In fact, the usual table we sit at was not available when we were seated, so as soon as it opened up, we moved as fast as a deer 🦌.  They have taken wonderful care of us and remembering our preferences.

Cheers, off to the show (Shades of Buble) and then The Liars Club!

Thank you so very much for taking the time while on vacation to give so much back to the community.  My DW and I will be on this same itinerary in April and have found your posts extremely helpful in our planning.  Thanks for the honest feedback and wonderful photos and descriptions.  We hope you continue to have a wonderful trip.

Very nice review. I'm wondering if those of us who have standard rooms, the classic drink package, and plan to eat in the main dining rooms will enjoy our cruise. Every review I read is like this one. Are we the only ones that aren't planning the "elite" experience? We actually spent a sizable sum on this cruise and I don't want to feel like we've wasted our money.

YES, you will enjoy your cruise.  Just make sure you feel comfortable.  That's all that matters.

Thank you for the kind words, it does take a lot of time to gather and post, but others have provided us the same over the years on CC so it’s only fair to contribute back. Enjoy your April cruise. Cheers!

You will absolutely have a wonderful time. It is all about the planning and figuring out which experiences you want. Plan out each day and pre-book any specialty restaurants well in advance to get the dining time and pre-cruise discount.  Also, look at each menu on a current cruise/ship on the app so you can plan out which nights offer dishes you enjoy.  DM me if you need any assistance/ideas. Cheers!

Both of these lobster dinners, at the Island restaurant and on the catamaran(?), look much better than what we were served in Luminae on BEYOND in Nov,,,( sorry no pic but was tiny, although sweet)

The lobster out of the water grilled local style is a favorite. On the ship they are packed on disembarkation day and are more lobster accompanied with gourmet sauces.  I enjoyed them both, but if I could only do one, it would be grilled local style.

One was the island restaurant and the other on the catamaran. On the catamaran it appeared they were boiled first then touched up on the boat grill.  Cheers!

I’m curious, does this Night 9 menu only show up on the Celebrity app once you’re on board? Our Edge cruise is 5 weeks away and it still is saying Luminae is closed on nights 8-10?  Thanks for the great review. Very helpful.
