We are scheduled to board on 2/16 for a Panama Canal 🇵🇦 cruise.  With all the CA rain and storms have there been any issues at the port ??  We are flying to.San Francisco for a few day prior and driving to San Pedro.  It appears our SF part may be rainy but want to ensure it is not effecting the poet.  Any local info on San Francisco or San Pedo would be helpful

Should be posted in West Coast Departures.

Nothing related to the port, but for the trip, the 5 south is boring but the fastest. The 99 is less boring but slower. Don't take the 1 coast route, may have landslides. Though this is by far the most scenic.

Feb. 16th is a Thursday, the busiest traffic day of the week. Think you're leaving early enough? Leave earlier. You'll be hitting downtown LA directly to connect to the 110 that takes you to San Pedro.

Good luck!

Thanks for the info. We are actually leaving SF on Tuesday 2/14  and staying in San Pedro for 2 nights. The cruise departs in the 16th.  Sorry I was not clear about that

When you get closer, also check with your hotels, especially San Pedro and see if they are having any issues. Also, the California highway dept. for any road closures.  Watch that weather forecast.

Check the roll call in early February out of San Pedro.

Maybe February will be fine.

If I were you, I would break the drive up.  There is more to see and do on the way down than there is to see and do in San Pedro.

Leave SF on Tuesday, February 14 and spend the night in Monterey/Carmel/Solvang/Santa Barbara/Santa Clarita.  Lots of great small cities to stop along the drive (if you aren't zooming down the I-5).

Arrive in San Pedro on February 15.  Embark on February 16.

Yes, THIS! There really is not much to do in San Pedro itself. It is not a "destination". I was born in S. CA and grew up there. I have driven all of the main highways going north and south many times. Do not take Hwy. 1, take 101.
