Patti is going to go to Soul Play to do some arts and crafts. On the way she takes another shot of the Dome Pool, and of DJ Dillandro who is spinning the tunes….

There's no charge for Soul Play, but you need to sign up in advance on the app. Spots for the cruise go quickly, so check for classes at the beginning of the cruise by looking at each days activities. I have no idea which ships offer this, as this was the first time Patti had seen this.😎

Soul Play does look fun. Can kids attend? My son would love this. Also, at Alchemy can you get drinks at the exterior seats or do you have to be at the actual bar to get drinks? We hadn't been on Carnival since 2018 and never on a ship with an Alchemy bar. That area looks pretty spacious compared to pictures of some of the other ships.

I had never seen Soul Play before either, I love the idea! I will have to check it out on upcoming cruises.

Carnival Spirit is the only ship in the fleet that has it, to the best of my knowledge.

Spirit doesn't have the "upgraded" tables installed yet, so every meal uses tablecloths, just like in the olden days.

I believe that Soul Play is adult oriented, but I'll ask Patti about that later. At Alchemy there is no waiter service, so if you are sitting in the outer seats you have to belly up to the bar. 😎

Jeff, I thought I saw a MDR lunch menu posted.  Are they doing Sea Day Brunch?

Yes, they do the Sea Day Brunch. On port days they have lunch in the MDR. The day I just finished reviewing was supposed to be a Princess Cay day. 😎

Just saw this and does look like Spirit is the only ship that currently offers Soul Play; says it for all ages but also says there IS an additional cost??image.thumb.png.ebe00c19d6ce4fa87190d7dc5eaa1c3f.png

Never saw anyone in Soul Play every time I went back - multiple times each day.  Glad to see it is getting some use.

Okay, here is some firsthand information on Soul Play. Soul Play is only open when there are classes. There were classes almost every day during our cruise, including embarkation day. The only day there were no classes was when we had our long port day in Bonaire. On sea days there were two classes held. You sign up for the classes on the hub app. They have room for twenty-four (24) in each class. Patti was able to sign up for a class that was added when our day at Princess Cay was turned into a sea day. Afterwards, when she tried to sign up for additional classes, they had all been booked up, so sign up for these as soon as you board! Patti was not charged for the class that she took, but some classes may incur a charge. These classes are posted in the daily "Fun Times", listed as Creativity at Sea or Soul Play Studio. I think that covers it. :classic_cool:

I've seen creativity at sea, but I think it was on the Journey's cruise I did several years back. I really hope this Soul Play is still on Spirit (as well as tablecloths!) when I sail on her in November!

Day # 13 – (January 16th) – Grand Turk  (9am – 6:30pm).

We woke up to a mostly cloudy day, but the forecast is for it to be sunny and warm. The seas are fairly calm as the Spirit makes her way towards Grand Turk. Here is the view from our balcony…..

As I mentioned earlier, we weren’t supposed to be here until 11am, but since we missed Princess Cay yesterday, Captain Bovo has promised to get us here by 9am. Once we heard that, we checked to see if our pool cabana was available, and it was, but we decided that we would just head down to Jack’s Shack and see how the experience was there with the new owners. Here are a few views as the Spirit sails into Grand Turk…..

The annoying umbrella and chair vendors that used to be in front of Margaritaville have been moved down the beach….

This is what the Margaritaville beach looks like now…..
