madre2 Posted January 27, 2023 #1 Share Posted January 27, 2023 We have a late afternoon flight out of FLL after getting off the Summit in Miami. What is the latest we can stay on the ship until they make us get off? We were hoping to eat breakfast and just wait on the pool deck until we had to get off, as I know that we will have to be out of our cabin. Some people will say 9:30 is the latest, but in practice 9 to 9:15 is really the latest unless you want to be difficult passengers and literally be the last ones off the ship where they're continue to call for all passengers must disembark. grandgeezer Posted January 28, 2023 #4 Share Posted January 28, 2023 Keep in mind, the new passengers can’t board until everyone is off the ship, that includes the people doing a B2B. Weren’t you anxious to get on the week before? There are plenty of ways to kill time besides siting on the ship, preventing the new customers from starting their vacation. 4
Rare Jim_Iain Posted January 28, 2023 #5 Share Posted January 28, 2023 You can stay until FINAL CALL. Generally between 9:00-9:15. They try to begin processing B2B's at 9:30 once ship is zeroed out
Alakegirl Posted January 28, 2023 #6 Share Posted January 28, 2023 Celebrity used to offer “extend your stay” in some ports. For a fee you could hang out at the pool, have lunch On board. It was regularly available in Europe and I think they tried it in the US from a couple of ports on trial basis, but it is a no more
miched Posted January 28, 2023 #7 Share Posted January 28, 2023 You really don’t want to stay on board because everything is shut down. We have been on B2B many times and there isn’t anything except sit and wait. No internet except for your cellular plan , no drink service, no food and etc. It is best to get off and let them prepare the ship for the next cruise. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
sewingbee Posted February 6, 2023 #8 Share Posted February 6, 2023 we had this issue a few years back so hired a car, so that our luggage was storable in the boot, drove to Miami beach and parked up in a public car park. Spent a few hours on the Miami seafront looking at the gorgeous building, had lunch then drove to the airport. we could pick up and drop of the car at diff locations so it was pretty easy. Worked out a similar cost to taxis etc and we got to see some of Miami.

On one of our B2B2B over Xmas/NYE, a couple with 3 small children (one really errant 3-4 year old who did not want to leave the ship) held us all up for 45 minutes because they were holding up zeroing out the ship. Not a good situation.
George C Posted February 8, 2023 #10 Share Posted February 8, 2023 We were told we needed to leave at 9:30, we were drinking champagne in the retreat at the time 😁😁
PelicanLvr Posted February 8, 2023 #11 Share Posted February 8, 2023 OP - I think you need a different plan. By 8:30 you will feel "unwanted" aboard the ship. Maybe a day pass at one of the airport hotels with a pool?
