What happens if you test positive for Covid prior to cruise?

What happens if you test positive within the 3 days prior to Japan cruise on Princess do you get your money back without buying insurance?

Wow...I think you are going to be very disappointed.  Without insurance you fall at the mercy of the infamous "penalty window", which, at 3 days prior would be 100%.

Guests who test positive for COVID-19 will not be permitted to board, together with their family members and close contacts, and should not travel to the ship. In this scenario, you & your travelling party who are denied boarding are entitled to a 100% Future Cruise Credit (FCC).

Guests who travel to the ship but show symptoms of COVID-19, and then test positive in secondary screening in the cruise terminal will be denied boarding, together with their family members and close contacts and will also receive a 100% Future Cruise Credit. I stand corrected!  My apologies!  It looks like you will be entitled to FCC so at least you should not lose your investment.

I just read the T&C yesterday. Japan is listed as an exception.

I think we posted about the same time, regardless, can’t be too careful about information  like this. 
 

@mattR Good luck.  I think Japan may have some arrival requirements as well. There are requirements for US citizens, not sure about Canadians.
