Just woke for our 4 am flight …cancelled no flights going to LaX today.

lesson to self fly in the day before.

Emergency Transit as we booked EZ air said we are 2 of many not making it to the ship.

This is my fear too….since you booked EZ air are they going to fly you to the first port stop?

If your flight was cancelled the airline may be able to get you out of another airport, if you’re close enough to drive to it?  Or can EZAir fly you to the next port?

EZ air should work with you on this.  I've had good luck with them when plans go awry.  Reverse situation, ship late to LA, hundreds missed flights on Good Friday.  Delta told me I had to wait until Sunday.  I called and got a flight to ATL then Milwaukee.  Got home at 3 a.m. Sat. but better than staying 2 nights in LA.

CA is in a world of hurt right now.  We have 18 inches of snow and it just kept coming down.  

 

Last snow we got was in 2019 and it was flurries, no sticking.

 

LA also has snow, unheard of.  

 

You wouldn't have been able to make a flight yesterday either.  The snow started dumping on Thursday Feb 23,

 

We can't even get out of our driveway. And lost power for several hours yesterday.

So sorry to hear that, in good weather you could drive but so iffy now. They did however lift some restrictions in Mono county, but still would need chains in some areas.  But who know what conditions would be in So. California in the mountainous areas.  We're in Spanish Springs and only had about 1/2 inch.

Cruise gods were with us got on overpriced SW to Long Beach .

EZ air did nothing and said we had to call  Princess at 8 am !!! 
They did say many not making ship and we could not join ship in Cabo as tender port.

we land in Long Beach 10.30 am … panic over .

Not sure if it was a special circumstance because of Covid, but last year a gentleman got off a different Princess ship in Cabo and then boarded the Majestic in Cabo. Usually tender is not the issue, it is correct authorities for boarding available?

I’m so glad it worked out for you!  We are on this cruise too.  Cold and rainy here in Long Beach.  We are going to leave for the port in a few minutes.

I assumed you book a roundtrip with EZ Air. If I was in your shoes, I would make sure the return wasn't cancelled also. Sometimes they figure if you did not make the original flight (and it was not rebooked for a later date) you won't need the return. This is not always the case but has happened to us in the past.

Actually, I do not think you would have even been able to fly in the day before in this case. My sister lives in S. Cal and they have tons of snow. It is crazy down there.

I am glad you were able to get to Long Beach. Do you have travel insurance? Another lesson...

You are right…good heads up for the OP. Maybe they already thought to change the return flight, too. I wonder where they were flying from .

We are on board ,already got the transfers back in OBC …. Our return is not with EZ air as we got a Direct SW Long Beach to Reno.

Delta had no other options for us today , heard several using United have have not made it to the ship.

we were so lucky this time.

Late last night, LAX had a flight stoppage.  Crazy weather.  Me....missing it all.  Getting some rain.  A little wind.  Missing the hail, snow, thunder, drenching rain.  And I am just outside of Long Beach.  Just the cold.

 

I am so glad you got here on Southwest.  They have taken over LGB.  I guess that is a good thing.  But sure miss Jet Blue.  

 

Time to get that drink...you are well on your way.  Hang on to your britches...

I’m glad it worked out for you. I actually had same day direct flights from Vancouver booked for end of April as it was only a 6 day cruise, and wouldn’t be hugely disappointed if something went wrong as it was only going LA to our home port. But… then I decided to add on Hawaii, so I changed our flights to the day before as now it’s 22 days and I didn’t want to take the same chance.

So glad it worked out. Hopefully you have travel insurance, if so you should be able to claim those expensive replacement flights ( or maybe the difference in cost since I assume you will be refunded for the cancelled flights). Enjoy your cruise!

Ordinarily I could never imagine capping out on my 15 drinks per day on the Plus Package. But in your circumstance, I could see 15 drinks being a little light!  So glad you made it. Enjoy!!
