Maplemoose Posted May 9, 2023 #1 Share Posted May 9, 2023 We will be self-disembarking from the Summit. Do we need to vacate our room before being cleared to leave? I would like to go for breakfast, return to cabin and leave from there when we are allowed, In other words, avoid dragging the luggage all over the ship. We will be on 3rd deck. Northern Aurora Posted May 9, 2023 #2 Share Posted May 9, 2023 Depending on the itinerary self-disembarkation can start at 7:30 AM. You will be able to find something for breakfast before you depart.

This is how we did it on our recent cruise on Solstice.
Rare hcat Posted May 9, 2023 #4 Share Posted May 9, 2023 Folks will start lining up way before the time ship telks you to,, Eat as early as possible, go back ti the room and grab your luggage and head to lineup, So many take this option it can be very crowded and chaotic. Suite guests go first, then wheelchairs...then gen self disembark, Main benefit is that you have your luggage with you..travel light.
Rare 1025cruise Posted May 10, 2023 #5 Share Posted May 10, 2023 You will need to be out of your cabin by 8:00 the latest. Just bring your bags to breakfast with you.

You do not need to vacate your room before breakfast, so you can leave your luggage in your cabin and go eat breakfast. But as hcat posted, if you have not done self walk off before, you will be surprised how many passengers will be lining up with you to get off as part of the self walk off crowd, so it is worth showing up a little early. mrgabriel Posted May 10, 2023 #7 Share Posted May 10, 2023 We often do self-disembarkation and always go to breakfast early, then pick up our bags. On Silhouette last week we were asked to be out of our rooms by 7:30.
Maplemoose Posted May 10, 2023 Author #8 Share Posted May 10, 2023 So where do you join the line on the Summit? I remember something about Deck 4?
Dancing Shoes Posted May 10, 2023 #9 Share Posted May 10, 2023 When you leave to go to breakfast, put your "Deep Sleep" magnet out on your door.
volk904 Posted May 10, 2023 #10 Share Posted May 10, 2023 We always walk off. When it comes to leaving the room it depends on our flight. They will allow you line usually before 7 am but you have flexibility. You are not tied to a luggage group. You just leave the ship when you are ready up until about 9:30 That said they will tell you they want you out of the cabin and I to public areas by around 8:30 but several times including our last cruise we had a late flight. We told the cabin attendant we were going to breakfast and we were going to leave the bags in the room a little longer. They had no issue.
