Should Wife and I Share Login For App or Create Separate Accounts?

Question is in the subject, but I am basically wondering if we should just both use my login since I can see and manage both passengers, or if there is some benefit to setting her up with her own account?  I do see the benefit of both having access to the app - that is not the question, just wondering if we needed separate logins.

Thank you!

If you are the credit card holder and she is allowed to use it, then yes, you can just manage and see both of your accounts /folios once OB.

You both already have accounts on the website and those logons are the same for the App whether it’s on the website or the separate Princess App.  So she can log in if she wants to. Don’t sign up for another account for her, or you’ll create problems.

I manage our accounts for both of us.

I only created an account for myself (which I use for both the website and app). I've been managing both people from that single login (including doing the blue lane/green lane steps).  I wouldn't already have a login for her, would I?  I'm guessing that was just a warning not to try to create an account on both the website and app for the same person, correct?

Yes, if you have an account already with a login, it is the same on the website as on the outside App.

Doesn’t she have an account with PCL?  Does she have a CC Captain Circle number?

She doesn't have an account (or at least not that I am aware of). We booked through a TA which generated a new CC number (I believe) since we have not cruise Princess before.  I had created an account while I was researching the trip, but forgot to get my CC number to the TA.  I needed to call and have my CC numbers merged to get it to link to my website account.  All this makes me think I'll need to do the same for her.

A lot if TA’s will sign you up for a CC number, if you’re new to PCL.

So, Yes! Call your TA tmrw and ask if your DW has a CC number.  She needs one in order to get credit for this cruise.

Then, from there you can sign in with her number and set up an account.  But, definitely make sure you don’t reregister her.  Or, you’ll have issues.

The TA should have used your legal names that match your passport.

While DW *does* have her separate Princess account, I manage both via my login since I am the one doing the booking.  You indicate who your second passenger is during booking so they have all the info they need.  We have never needed to log in on her app unless it was just "troubleshooting" to see if her app was doing the same crazy stuff as mine!

LOL - good to know!  I've been there.  Thank you!

Yes, same here.  However, wanted to make sure DW has a CC number and I would set up a login, like you did.
Useful to check app issues, like you mentioned.

This is what we do also.

I haven't tried this myself, but I seem to recall reading that if you log on to a device, it automatically logs you off of any other devices.  It you and your wife are using different devices, you would be constantly logging each other off.  Can someone confirm this?

This would apply to the regular 1 device package.

Hi, where would I find the CC number for my travel companion?

I booked our first Princess cruise for June, I set up an account with a cruise ID # from my TA. I have been managing the website/app etc for both of us but as it's getting close now, dd will want the app herself to see what events are on etc. I wasn't sure if we would just share the same log-in but seems from reading this thread she will need her own account.

TIA

In my experience it will alert you to the fact that you are logged on a different device and ask you if you want to change

I would set up separate accounts if you plan on cruising with Princess in the future. That way you can both get loyalty benefits and if you gamble both can get qualified for casino deals

There is a difference between an account on the app and an account with Princess Cruises.  DH is allergic to technology, and I have always done the registrations, etc.  He does not have a separate login for the web site, but he does have a Captain's Circle number and gets all the loyalty benefits he's entitled to.  He definitely does not have an app login.  He appears on my app account as my travel companion, and he's fine with that.  It is not necessary to have separate logins on any device in order to manage a cruise for both of you.

(DH mourns the old days when the much anticipated cruise docs showed up in the mail.)🙂

It's in your booking information.  Download your Travel Summary from within the Cruise Personalizer.  Your CC Member numbers are part of the passenger information section near the top of page 1.

Where do I find the cruise personaliser? Is it on the app or the website as I can’t see it on either. I cannot see travel summary either. I have booked the cruise and set up app but I am a bit confused on what my husband will have to do to enable him to connect to Wi-Fi onboard. Does he need the app or is it sufficient that he is named on my app? Sorry if that doesn’t make much sense but I am not great with IT.

Personalizer is on the Princess website. Login to your account. Go to my account and go to manage the cruise for your pending cruise.

Or... log in to Princess, go to Booked Guests then Access Cruise Personalizer.  Take your choice...

Wife and I will be in our Princess cruise in a few days and she doesn't have a log in account with Princess (her second cruise but first with Medallion) nor she had the medallion apps.  I manage everything from booking and check-in so she doesn't need those thing.  We are getting the Princess plus package for this cruise and WiFi is part of the package, does she need the medallion apps to get access to Wifi?  If she download, does she need to create a separate log-in?
