madre2 Posted May 12, 2023 #1 Share Posted May 12, 2023 Can anyone tell me if passengers are seated with others for breakfast in the main dining room, or if you can ask for a table for two?
Rare Jeter02 Posted May 12, 2023 #2 Share Posted May 12, 2023 They offer both ways. A private table or a table to share if you would like. That's the beauty of the main dining room is having choice.

Rare Coral Posted May 12, 2023 #4 Share Posted May 12, 2023 You can have your own table with out any issues. Just ask for a private table.

A table for two doesn't always mean quick service. They seem to serve at one speed for breakfast.
1965 Posted May 12, 2023 #6 Share Posted May 12, 2023 We request a table for 2 at breakfast & all other meals we may have in the mdr. We enjoy meeting new people but we love our meals with just each other.

I have found it difficult for a table for two on some cruises and super easy on others. We tend to go ask, when they say it will be a long wait we go to the buffet. Rare BamaVol Posted May 12, 2023 #8 Share Posted May 12, 2023 I love breakfast in the MDR. The toast, the fruit, the service, the perfect poached egg hemispheres, the McDonald’s hash browns. Mmmmmm. Worth waiting for, in my estimation. We were never offered a shared table, don’t want one. It never seemed overly busy, with lots of empty tables. If I saw a table with 6 diners, I assumed they were together.
Mary Ellen1 Posted May 12, 2023 #9 Share Posted May 12, 2023 Currently on board the Majestic. We've had breakfast every day at a private table for two. Very nice!

Rare cr8tiv1 Posted May 13, 2023 #14 Share Posted May 13, 2023 Bring your own hairdryer. I don't know of one Princess ship that has a "decent" one.

In spite of it all, I like MDR breakfast. I'm never in much a hurry. If I have to do an excursion, I'll do room service breakfast.

It's nice if you're not planning to do anything much during the day but if you're a pool person reserving a chair takes precedence over a leisurely breakfast in the DR. A hairdryer for her is for drying hair. It styles itself. On the other hand, I need a strong blow to straighten my beard. We got by with what was on the ship, but only for the sake of luggage weight.
