Your "unique" Carnival stats

Recommended Posts

I've never sailed the same Carnival ship twice. (only sailed three ncl ships but have sailed two of them 2x)

i average a Guy burger every other day or so on CCL.   at LEAST 3 a week.  My grown son averages 1.5/day.

after starting cruising with only balconies i have slowly begun oceanview and inside cabins.  One of my favorite cabins is on Horizon, oceanview, but with two full bathrooms.

we have never stayed below deck 3 or above deck 11.

i absolutely remember my first cruise director.  i have no recollection of the next 5-10 however.

ive never made a large purchase in CCL shops. i would if they began selling Col EH Taylor bourbon.

i think the most underrated dive in movie was The Upside with Kevin Hart.   we didnt expect to stay long as it was drizzling that evening...but we got caught up in the flick.   two thumbs up!

Fun idea!

I've only ever sailed Carnival or of one port, Long Beach, but I've take three different ships from there.

I also average ice cream 2.5 cones a day. 😁

I've had 0️⃣ female cruise directors on Carnival. 🤔

I am always up by 7AM

Always had a balcony since we got one on our second cruise.

I always keep up with my husband drink for drink...which may not always be a good idea and always surpass him on day 1.

We always get the beds separated, I like my own blankets.

I always find the bar we will stay at most of the cruise, usually aft bar and tip in the beginning of the cruise.

I am usually wandering the ship around 5 a.m. waiting for the gym to open. Have never had self-serve ice cream on a ship.  Like the Spirit class, Conquest class and Dream class of ships the best.  Have sworn never to go on one of the "mega-ships."  Went on Horizon during covid when it was 60% capacity, and even that was too much "large-ness" for me.  We are balcony snobs - have never sailed without one.  I get my own light blanket from steward - the quilts they use are too heavy for me.  DH uses 2 of the quilts though - lol!  We love getting our laundry done so I can go home and not have to throw a load in.  As we have been to so many of the ports so many times, we may get off to wander for an hour or so, then back on the ship we go to hang out and relax.  Haven't bought a photo in our last 25 cruises.

We’ve only cruised from Florida ports.

Glory 3x

Magic 2x

Ecstasy 1x

Freedom 5x

Pride 3x

We prefer the smaller ships.

We usually pick OUR spot at the beginning of a cruise and that becomes our regular hangout for the duration. Ex: serenity deck on Pride and Ecstasy,  sitting area across from alchemy bar on Pride, deck 3 outside deck on Freedom, Lido on Magic.

We really enjoy the comedy club.

We usually eat breakfast/brunch/supper in the MDR.

We only do B2B cruises now to make the most of our airfare. Our longest B2B was 22 days.

We’ve never paid for a specialty restaurant.

The Tandoori Restaurant area on the Magic was one of our favorites and we are sad that it is long gone!

After our first ocean view cruise we have always done balconies- except for two “upgrades” one free grand suite and $240 ocean suite.

We have had 2 separate cruises on the Legend, Liberty, Sunshine (Legend was out of Tampa to western, and Alaska- was supposed to go on the Legend again for the Panama Canal but it was during COVID, so when we finally did the cruise 3 years later it was with the Pride.)

Our first “meal” is always Guy’s burger and a beer🍺

We have always stayed on decks 4, 6, 7, and 8 preferably in the back.

I always choose our cabins- and they HAVE to be even- portside….

We live in Florida, so my most favorite cruise was Alaska.

We have ony cruised Carnival- but plan on cruising the Rhine river next year!

some of the comments have me thinking ...

i dont think we have had a female CD either.

and the free laundry perk for Platinum is probably my favorite freebie at sea.

best sailaway port - Miami.   Tampa was great once we made it to the bridge, my wife thought i was bonkers for making our family wait on Lido for that moment.  DRANKS!

First cruise - 2018.  Carnival Glory.

Always start every cruise with a Funship and a Guy's burger.  Next, hot tub + more Funships.  Then, nap.

Often miss sail-away, due to said above Funships.

We like to test the fates in the casino.

I like all classes and size of ship, for different reasons.  One of my earliest experience was watching a dive-in movie from the hot tub on the Glory.  Can't beat it.  Unpopular opinion, but I love the stadium-style pool deck.  I also enjoy "bells and whistles" of new ships.

Carnival Cruises:

Glory 2x - First ship 2018!  Where it all began.  Won my first slot jackpot ever on that trip.  Married on the ship in February this year!  Sailed out of New Orleans, lots of good memories from that trip.

Horizon 1x - So far.  Booked on Horizon for ABC Islands in a Havana interior in November 2024.  REALLY excited for that cruise!

Magic 2x - both out of Norfolk, VA - local.  Hated the Magic on trip 1.  Found appreciation for her on trip 2.

Celebration - Coming soon! February 2024.

While we've been on 13 different Carnival ships, we've also done several of them more than once.  Since N.O. is the only port we drive to, we did Triumph four times out of there and have now done Valor three times and two of our next three cruises are also on Valor (Nov and Jan).  We did Triumph the four times and then did it again after it transformed to Sunshine.  Outside of the upcoming repeat cruises on Valor, we have three upcoming cruises on ships we've never been on:  Celebration (Sept), Jubilee (April) and Horizon (next Sept).

36 cruises on Carnival

Always aft, always balcony, except for our 2 cuba cruises

Havana cabanas on ships that have them

We live 15-20 minutes from Port Canaveral and will no longer cruise out of any other port

Only time we've visited the serenity area is on Sunshine

Never been down the water slides

Can't stand playlist productions

Love the comedy club

Rudi's and JiJi's are our favorite upcharge restaurants

Only bad day at sea was a man overboard

Our first two cruises were on Fantasy class ships and they were ocean view.  We did a balcony on our third cruise (Sunshine) and have always booked them since.  However, we book mid-ship balconies.

Started cruising on Royal for two cruises then jumped ship to Carnival.  Love the crew!!

22 cruises with Carnival, 9 after Restart.  It's an addiction but hey, I admit it😉

Favorite upcharge restaurant is JiJi's.  Come on Carnival, put a JiJi's on every ship!

Had soft serve ice cream once.  That was enough.

Love Alchemy Bar and DH and I usually get Cheers.

I usually book for the dates I can cruise, but every so often Carnival has an offer I can't refuse and I grab it!  No not casino offers, I wish!

Guy burger at least once a cruise.

Serenity is my serenity.

Next up, a 10 day cruise on Pride out of Rome this October!  First time cruising in Europe!  Woo Hoo!!!

In 150+ seadays we've never eaten dinner in the Lido buffet.

Wow!  That's saying a lot.  There was a period of time on a few cruises where we rarely ate in the dinning room because the service had gotten to where it was taking two hours or more. We like the family friendly comedy and it was hard to make it to the shows then.  Now that it has improved, we rarely eat dinner on the Lido.

I love this post!

Let's see- we're military and don't have a homeport. We've cruised out of Port Canaveral the most, followed by Long Beach. We've also been out of New York, Miami and Tampa.  We've just recently moved to the Panhandle, and we're itching to try going out of Mobile.

We've only done an inside cabin twice as a family-- and the last was a norovirus cruise that we were not immune to.  The smell......  we will only cruise with a balcony now because of that "what if".

First cruise- 2010 on the Splendor out of Long Beach.  It was 1 or 2 cruises right before it died in the water.  Last cruise the Panorama December 2022.  Only 5 days to Platinum and we can't wait for the free laundry!

We did a repositioning cruise (New York to Miami) and it was awesome.  I would love to just do those.  Everyone just settles in, you get new ports, and it was our best cruise hands down.

We hardly ever pay for the restaurants, except for our last cruise where we had all the Carnival on board credit from Covid, We loved the steakhouse and will go back.  We did the Japanese steakhouse and it was just meh.  We usually try to do the specialty restaurants for lunch.

We just booked a cruise out of Dover England on the Legend for next August for our 30th Anniversary. We also spent our 25th anniversary, my 50th birthday, hubby's 49th on board, and both kid's graduations on board.  Celebrating onboard is fun.

We have only booked 1 excursion through Carnival and it was a nightmare (St Maarten)  We've been successful going with someone else for all the rest of them.

I'm with you on all of these.  I've never done them either.

I've had at least three in my 14 Carnival cruises - Saffie Midgley, Chloe Loddo, and this lady - "Nono" Jones (in the middle, of course):

I've had 134 total sea days with Carnival.  I don't remember the exact number of sea days I've had - probably between 50 and 60.   I've been to the trough many times, but I've never been to the seaday brunch. 😲  Maybe I'll get to it someday, maybe I won't.

This is just an appetizer.  More useless stats coming up soon in my main post!

I'd like to thank @havanadaydreaming for the thread!  I had a lot of fun reading what others have done and thinking of what I've done on Carnival ships over the past decade:

  • I've done 14 cruises so far on Carnival
  • I've been on 10 different Carnival ships - one of which has been renamed (Triumph -> Sunrise)
  • I've been on four ships twice, none more than that
  • My next two sailings on Carnival will be on what I call the Disney ships - the Magic and the Dream
  • I've won 9 ships on a stick - 3 are from the Triumph
  • I've won a single boat on a rope
  • I have 134 total days on Carnival ships, which probably gives me a higher days per cruise average than 90%+ of Carnival cruisers
  • I've done 6 Journeys cruises and have one on the books
  • Guy's is probably my single favorite lunch AND dinner onboard.  I'm having a hard time putting a number on how many burgers I've done overall - maybe 30?
  • I only had one Carnival cruise canceled on me during the pandemic
  • I've sailed with cruise directors Felipe Couto and Mike Pack twice each, none more than that
  • I've sailed out of San Juan four times
  • I've always had either portholes or oceanview cabins
  • I haven't done any Fantasy Class ships
  • I haven't done any XL Class ships and have none booked
  • I've cruised on all the Conquest Class ships except the Glory

After my October cruise in Rome, I will be right there with you at 134 days! Those Journey cruises make those days add up👍
