HAL web site pet peeve

One of my pet peeves is the number of transactional functions that don’t work in Safari. And I always forget and have to re-log in in Chrome or Firefox to do whatever it is I was trying to do. The last time this happened, I was trying to pay the deposit on a held booking, and all the credit card fields were grayed out in Safari. Very annoying.

Very annoying is also having to constantly close out the "refer a friend" ribbon before being able to get anywhere beyond the first page - it blocks the log in button on my phone.

High class problem to have, I guess, considering it's a cruise vacation I'm trying to handle, lol.

I have not been able to get into my booking all morning on Chrome. I've cleared cookies, restarted Chrome etc and still get an error message. I can login to the website OK, but can't access the booking. I finally tried Safari and it allows me in but Chrome is still not working for me.

Using Chrome, it let's me see them, but can't do anything. Possibly doing maintenance? Or just glitchy again.

My biggest peeve is when they have something on the site and then take it away.  Example, a few months ago I was able to see the casino deal pricing  (for us only) doing a general cruise search and now I have to call my TA to get the exact price (by cabin category).  A waste of everyone's time and makes me less likely to find a cruise and book it.

I have the same problem with Chrome and Edge ie I can book an excursion on Edge but must switch to Chrome to print it.  Also, which way one logs in or which link one uses brings up a different version of the same page, some of which are more functional than others ie for researching shore excursions, some page versions only allow one to advance itinerary by the day, others allow advancing by the week.  Why can't HAL ever get this right???

Trying to find out what cabins are available on a cruise your looking at. you have to constantly go back and forth to change section, deck and room. Why can't they have those selections on one page instead of the back and forth?

My pet peeve (on any site) is when a top level menu item has no function and only serves to trigger the fly out / menu expansion. For example, the first link (Plan a Cruise) ought to go somewhere when you click it.

When I was a boy and we were building the internet with hand tools and duct tape, User Interface Design standards required a landing page for each menu item. If we failed to create the page, they'd lock us in the root cellar with nothing but hard tack and cold coffee until we learned our lesson.

1.  On some searches under Plan a Cruise I cannot find the basic pricing, only Have-it-All.

2.  I would love to see the search function show cruises in chronological order. Even a search over just one month has me looking at a list like October 14, October 1, October 28, October 21. I would love to be able to see these listed from October 1 onward.

3. I find it unclear what promo is actually included once into the booking function when the promo is something other than HIA: promos such as "gratuities included", "OBC included". At the end where the price break-down is, it does not give a specific breakdown of what is included.

Add to that that you can't search 2 non consecutive months. If want to search cruises in Nov and Feb to see what works best for me, I have to search Nov through Feb or do 2 separate searches.

Not being able to select currency is super frustrating -- even when one uses a VPN you can get presented pricing in USD, only to have it revert to CAD when you sign in.  There are significant arbitrage-able price differences at times b/c HAL uses a fixed rate of exchange, rather than floating at the daily rate.     Scott.
