It would make more sense if they did it when the Bucs actually played so they could do a watch party. The cruise is also open to Buccaneer players (current and past), team mascot, and the Buccaneer cheerleaders. So I think that is the reason it is done during the offseason. Information link. SHIP TRAVELER Posted August 4, 2023 #55 Share Posted August 4, 2023 Got the Flash sale on my Oct. 1 Eclipse sailing. The real surprise was 20% off on casino table and slot play instead of the usual 10%. I was lucky to get the two shore excursions I cancelled back. They both went sold out as soon as I did. Maybe you can book the new price and then cancel the existing, I don't know a work around but I was afraid I had lost what I had in cyber space for a minute there. All is well now with the new priced items in my profile as of now.

If you have time to kill, do the maths on the ones that aren't so blatently obvious. My bestie's son is trying to figure out what to do for a career. Maybe he could get a job calculating discounts for Celebrity.

If you cancel a shorex booking that is sold out, it takes a few minutes for the cancelled spot(s) to come back before you can rebook it again. If you bought the shorex with OBC, your OBC is credited back to your on-line total instantaneously which only heightens the worry and impatience while you wait for the cancelled spots to reappear (e.g. did the cancelled spots get snapped up by someone else? Did a wait-lister get it?).

All is well but it was scary for a minute there.

The 1 device upgrade only allows you to have one device at a time connected to the internet at premium speeds (you can switch back and forth during your cruise, but only one device will be connected to the premium wi-fi at any one time). Thanks, I had figured that. But my question is why not buy 1 device for each of two passengers (for $4.99 each on some cruises, so much cheaper) and have those two devices connected at premium speeds? Since the 2nd guest has to disconnect, I guess it depends how often you need 2 devices simultaneously. Or am I totally missing something?

No waiting for the excursion slot to re-open and the OBC to show up as available, which sometimes is immediately and sometimes is not in my experience. I apologize, but I did not completely understand your question--or maybe it is better to say I didn't know exactly which question you were asking. For two passengers, you have these options to connect to the internet: 1. Buy a single device package and share that between the two passengers. Only one passenger can be on at a time and they will use the same login ID to access the internet. The system is smart enough to detect if a second user is logging in to use the internet in which case it will give the second user a warning message that if the login is completed, it will log the other user off. In that situation, the system is not polite enough to warn the first user that they have been kicked off the internet by the second user. The internet just stops working for the first user. Early on, my family of 4 would share one package leading to, "Mom/Dad, can I have the internet?". Or sometimes they just took it. 2. Buy a single device package for each person (a total of 2 packages for a total of 2 people). Both passengers can be online at the same time. Each passenger has their own login ID to access the internet with. 3. Buy a two device package for one passenger only. Both passengers can be online at the same time. Each passenger uses the same login ID but the system will allow two devices to access the internet simultaneously through that login ID. In my experience, option #3 is slightly cheaper than option #2 even though they are essentially equivalent. And of course, option #1 is cheaper than both #2 and #3--but you get less for it. I hope somewhere in there, I answered your question! Edited August 4, 2023 by mahdnc

I hope somewhere in there, I answered your question! Thank you. You were completely clear and I (and others, I'm sure) appreciate your detailed explanation. Interestingly, although what you say makes perfect sense and is what anyone would expect, what I have been finding lately is that the upgrade to premium wifi per person for one device is priced at $4.99 per person (you can book one for each guest), but is significantly higher for 1 guest with 2 devices ON THE SAME CRUISE (See below.) Which is why I was asking if I was just missing something because it made no sense to price it that way. I expect some people may not understand that you can book the $4.99 wife premium upgrade for each of two guests (so in effect, have 2 devices with premium wifi) and instead mistakenly select the $26.99/per day pricier option believing that's their only choice to upgrade 2 devices. UPGRADE Upgrade to Premium W-Fi - 1 Device From + $4.99 $9.99/ per guest per day (50% OFF) FLASH SALE UPGRADE Upgrade to Premium Wi-Fi - 2 Device From + $26.99 $33.99/ per guest per day (18% OFF) PRE-CRUISE SAVINGS PER PERSON

Rare tigervixxxen Posted August 4, 2023 Author #69 Share Posted August 4, 2023 It doesn’t make sense to have the price so wildly different on the one device vs two device plans. Obviously two device should be double but not any more than that. It’s just more illogical pricing. Just do whichever is cheaper. I bought the $4.99 upgrade for my husband and I but if they two device had worked out cheaper I’d just buy that and we’d share one log in and each be able to have a device. tlspuds Posted August 5, 2023 #72 Share Posted August 5, 2023 Last year the flash sales were available to all customers. I emailed customer services about this and they confirmed their differing price structures - clearly thinking that this was ok. Same tour, same guide, same buses, but non USA guests effectively subsidising the better prices offered to the USA guests sat beside us. Something to consider when booking future cruises. Lovely I noticed people after my cruise dates were being offered the sales so checked and nothing. One of mine is almost finalized with all my plans but one next year for Norway I've booked nothing, at this rate with Celebrity's offerings I'll be doing my own excursions.
