Covid reimbursement for days in isolation?

Has anyone been able to have the Princess promised FCC given for the isolation days applied to a future cruise?  I have been in frequent touch with the Princess Customer Service center "off shore". They know nothing about this & cannot or will not give me a phone number to talk to an official in Santa Clarita.
Any advice or help will be appreciated.

We had Covid FCC for five days of isolation for my wife from a February 2023 cruise.  It took quite a number of weeks (perhaps 3 or 4 months) for the FCC to show up in her cruise credit account.  In the meantime we had booked a Princess cruise for this November and one for February 2024.  The Covid FCC was applied to the November 2023 Trans Atlantic cruise--I don't remember if it was applied automatically or if we had our Princess cruise planner apply it.  Then my wife had foot surgery.  We had to cancel the TA November 2023 cruise and replace it with a September TA 2024.  When we did that we had our Princess Vacation Planner apply the Covid FCC to our February 2024 cruise.

Lots of people were reimbursed during the pandemic, but IDK if Princess is still doing it or not.

Yes they are as I was isolated 2 weeks ago.Not sure how long I will have to wait for the FCC, told me on board to chase it along after 30 days

If you got Covid on a cruise and were confirmed by medical they should have given you a letter verifying the information that should be all you need to get the FCC. They are not going to take your word for it. If you have a Princess Cruise Consultant they can speed things along

Isolated for 2 days.  It is documented on my Medical Report (that I paid $28).  I had to ask for the instruction letter as I was being escorted to my New digs.

Just started the claims process with AON.  Also backed up by sending information to Medicare and my Secondary.  I am in for the long haul (3-4 months).  Some have said I will get the isolation credit back in a check.  Others have said it will show up as FCC.  My medical will be covered by somebody.

This is what my "letter" said:

"If you miss cruise days, including time in onboard isolation or quarantine (as required by our onboard medical team), will I be compensated?

• A Future Cruise Credit worth 100% of the per-day cruise fare for the missed days

• a refundable credit to your onboard account for missed pre-paid onboard experiences (such as spa appointments and specialty dining reservations) and shore excursions.

• a refundable credit for the refundable portion of taxes, fees and port expenses for ports visited after disembarkation."      end of quote

Did you book with a TA or CVP?

If so, they can help.

Did you have insurance?  Princess?  If so, there’s a link on the insurance site, you can apply for FCC’s.

Did you have any medical bills or any other expenses, or just the isolation?

A little more info will help to guide you.

I wonder how many "afflictions" they do this for?  What about Noro?  What about the Flu?  What about Bronchitis?  What about a "hard" cold?

I don't have an answer for that.  I know I had to request isolation since I was traveling with a non-relative and had covid.  I think the key here is that I had to have it documented by the medical center.

You are only quarantined for Covid. I have been quarantined 2 times on Princess and each time it was for a minimum of 5 days.  The letter the OP showed did not mention quarantine so I am confused

Yes I do have this letter also & I have the 5 pages of the Ship's Med Center & doctor's report.
I have another cruise booked for Nov & even my travel agent can't get an affirmative from Princess!  Go figure... 😬

I did have the Princess insurance but I was told Princess is providing this FCC, not AON.  Where do you find that link on the insurance site? I do thank you for your info.

I called AON and they told me exactly what to do.  You’re case may be different, because you have medical charges.  However, the AON rep was very helpful. I would suggest you call them tmrw and ask.

You ate also isolated for noro, but no fcc.  We both were afflicted and were isolated until cleared by medical.

DH was quarantined in May 2022 after catching Covid on a British Isles cruise.   FCC showed up within 3 days of disembarking.   For some reason I forgot to add insurance to this trip.   All expenses for shoreside quarantine we reimbursed exactly as documented in the letter we received.  No issues from me.

We contacted our CVP and the FCC was applied to the cruise of our choice we already had booked.

Your CVP in NZ or US?  I’ve heard of other CVP’s that have pushed it through quickly.  Wish all TA’s/CVP’s could do that.

I live in the US.  Our CVP had nothing to do with the FCC showing on our accounts.   The ship told us it would show up in a couple of days and it did.
I think the benefit to us was the lack of insurance.

Just checked (cruise ended a week ago).  Nothing on my account.  Sigh.  But I will check more often.  thanks.

Different world.  This was when the US was closed until you were required to be 10 days from positive.   We had a wonderful week in London courtesy of Princess because we could not fly home.   Husband had symptoms for one day.   No quarantine regulations on England.   Per diem and pre paid hotel covered all expenses.   We ended up spending an extra day as there were no business class seats available into San Diego.

Alaska appears to have a major Covid issue.

Get a grip

Having had Covid twice on. ships and having the bad fever for several days I still wonder if the person who infected me knew they were sick and just ignored it. My mother caught it when she was 97 from a person who ignored symptoms
