Rare Monica887 Posted August 12, 2023 #1 Share Posted August 12, 2023 What's the best dessert at the Bistro?
Rare debenson0723 Posted August 12, 2023 #2 Share Posted August 12, 2023 You are going to get as many answers as people on this board since food is so subjective. At Le Bistro, I personally usually get the Marquise au Chocolat, which I really enjoy. My travel companion would disagree and he gets the Fraisier. So really the best is what is right for you on that day at that time. Enjoy your cruise!
Sand and Seas Posted August 12, 2023 #3 Share Posted August 12, 2023 I love the Pear Helene😋 I still miss the chocolate fondue with fruit from the prior menu, but this one is great!

They eliminated my favorite a couple of years ago, the Chocolate Napoleon. Of the ones currently offered, I usually select either the Marquise au Chocolat or the Poire Belle-Helene. But then again, I'm a chocoholic.
schmoopie17 Posted August 12, 2023 #7 Share Posted August 12, 2023 We have Le Bistro booked for December. I'll probably go with the Fraisier. If they're out of the Fraisier, I'll see if I can substitute the Niles.
hallux Posted August 12, 2023 #8 Share Posted August 12, 2023 I get the Marquise Au Chocolat as @debenson0723 does. When I dined at Le Bistro on my last cruise there was a party just getting their desserts as I was being seated. That dessert got some 'colorful' comments lol...
Rare Monica887 Posted August 12, 2023 Author #9 Share Posted August 12, 2023 I had narrowed it down to the marquise, the strawberry, or the flottante. My aunt is getting the flottante, so now I just need to decide between the chocolate or the strawberry. Decisions, decisions....
Rare BirdTravels Posted August 12, 2023 #10 Share Posted August 12, 2023 In May, we ordered strawberry ice cream.
wally4ever Posted August 12, 2023 #11 Share Posted August 12, 2023 Both times I've gone, I've gotten the Marquise. Next time, I may go for the Assiette de Fromage for something completely different; I always get a dessert but really I prefer savory to sweet. cruiserbear55 Posted August 13, 2023 #12 Share Posted August 13, 2023 Back before covid, the wives would order the chocolate fondue with fruit, and the hubbies would each get an order of Profiteroles. To the four of us, those were the finest desserts Le Bistro ever offered. Subjective, I know. The good old days!

Rare Monica887 Posted August 13, 2023 Author #15 Share Posted August 13, 2023 Ahh, I forgot about the profiteroles! Yes, those were the best! We just ordered the flotette and the marquise. I was unimpressed by both 🫤

quack2 Posted August 13, 2023 #17 Share Posted August 13, 2023 The Marquise is rather phallic in its shape.

BunnyHutt Posted August 13, 2023 #20 Share Posted August 13, 2023 Poire Belle Helene is definitely my favorite French ice cream dessert so I’m glad to hear it’s good on the ships. I tried Ile Flottante for the first time last month when I was in Paris. Was intrigued when we went to cafeteria at the Galleries Layfayette and it was *really* good. Think of it as like a French flan. Ordered it again at an amazeballs fondue joint and was so unimpressed that I stopped after one bite. So I think there’s enough margin of error/variation in that dessert that it can really be hit or miss.
