I would put on a diaper if i ever found a machine like that lol Unless all that play hovered around a $0-100 level, never really breaking out. If I play a machine, it's going to be video poker - and then I still find myself getting numb/distracted. When I accidently discard a card I should have kept, I call it a day. I take that back, I've played another machine - a video blackjack game, that had female dealers who kept your attention... lol Tom
oxymoron11 Posted August 15, 2023 #27 Share Posted August 15, 2023 The bounce back offer you received is for limited sailings, which is probably why you could not use it. New offers come out every few months so make sure the players club has your correct email. You should receive a nice offer soon and hopefully you can use it for the cruise you have already booked. I never use the bounce back and always rely on the emailed offers. 1
Rare BlerkOne Posted August 15, 2023 #28 Share Posted August 15, 2023 Carnival has handed out so many casino deals that pickings are slim. If you don't like Carnival casino offers, try Disney offers. 1

They don't care what you spent, they care about what you have left to spend.

One should ALWAYS get to know the casino host the 1st day and the last day of the cruise. On the last full day of the cruise the casino host can tell you all your gaming stats; avg bet per hand/spin, total coin in, avg gambling session time. With this kind you have an understanding of what your style of gambling generates. 2
Buckeye_Siggy Posted August 15, 2023 #31 Share Posted August 15, 2023 Joedel, If your booked cruise is not until 2024, i would suggest just waiting a few months until the new offers come out that cover your date. Once you get an offer that you like that covers your booked cruise, contact your Carnival rep and have them apply the new cruise offer to the existing cruise. My PVP has done this for me 10 times over the years and has never been an issue. I once made the mistake of booking through the website and found out the hard way that you should just have a PVP handle it, even if it is all the same. The PVP are linked to your booking and will help so that you give them referrals. Worst case, cancel your current and then rebook with the new offer.
john91498 Posted August 15, 2023 #32 Share Posted August 15, 2023 Always cash out at the end of the night and then rebuy in at the beginning of the next day. Don't bring chips to the table at the beginning. 2

Where the effect of your points will show up is in the casino offers you will receive after the cruise.

Agreed, they offer I had on a third and final night of the liberty sailing was for a free ocean view cabin with drinks on us while playing in the casino. JUNK Pretty much all my offers online are free cabins, up to suites, with drinks everywhere. I would take (basically) a cheers package booking any day over a drinks on us while playing offer. I don't want to feel I need to go gamble in order to get a drink on the house!

My personal experience is that I get way more points on slots vs table games even if I spend/lose more on the tables. This is mostly because I only bet $10-$20 average per table bet. It seems like those that average $25-$50 get way more table points. This is very objective.

You're correct in that more points are given (dollar for dollar bet) for slot play - owing to the difference in house advantage. The downside of table play is that the streaks of bad luck (pulling crap on splits/doubles, dealer KEEPS getting 20's, etc) can hit you hard. Laying out $100/200 per deal and losing 8 out of 10 stings !! But, like they say, if you can't stand the heat... In my younger playing days my emotions would be obvious (I'm talking about the negative ones), now I reserve emotional displays for those high fives when a table full of splits/doubles pays off... after everyone was holding their breath. 🙂 Tom 1

Table points are given by people, not machines, thus subjective. You can bet a "George" tipping with a $25 bet per hand is going to be rated higher than than non tipping loud mouth betting $50 per hand. A slot machine is going to give you the same points whether you snap your fingers at the drink waiter or ask nicely.

Speaking of being valued, and Celebrity --- Celebrity used to give me 60% discounts on suites, then it changed to 60% only on low level suites, then it was further restricted to non-Edge class ships.... now they'll offer 10% across the board. However, that usually ends up being more expensive than booking direct/online using various promos. So much for steady black chip play! I won't even go into what's happened to their suite prices !! StephPS79 Posted August 16, 2023 #48 Share Posted August 16, 2023 A couple of things to say. First, we can say it over and over. $82K whatever is not the amount of money lost. It's cycled. No one is dropping $82K in the casino (I mean, some people probably are!) I didn't get 33,000 on my last cruise, but I did get around 11,000 and my out of pocket expense as around $1000. Yes, we can all accept that a comp room is not "free" but "prepaid" as everyone likes to say. I didn't start betting bigger until the last day, and my points went from 6000 to over 11,000 on the last day, and that was the only time I actually didn't lose money. I probably could have gotten more points if the cruise hadn't have ended, with probably about the same budget. However, I'm not blowing through $27,500 dollars, and if I get a room for a comp cruise for the $1K I spent, I've made peace with that, and I had a lot of fun doing it. Point being, you win, you lose. At no time was I down more than $1500 and at no point was I up more that $1500. I'm just playing to have fun with the money I've budgeted to do so. After all that is send - OP was offered a suite and is disappointed?...All offers are for new bookings only. Accept the SUITE and be grateful. Or don't, but being complaining about it seems a bit unreasonable. 3

This is why i 'bribe' the pit bosses with cans of soda, energy drinks, and coconut waters. I only play blackjack and always try to sit at either first or third base. So that enables me to be able to chat with the casino bosses who watch the tables/dealers. They are the ones who rate your play in the computer. I like to find out what kind of drinks they like and order them with my 'drinks on us, anywhere; offer that i have/ Anytime a waiter comes by asking for drinks, i try and add a Celcius or Monster or whatever they pit boss likes. it is basically free to me and it makes their day. they typically have to buy these things - they dont get for free - so i am doing them a favor. i know for a fact this has gotten my rated for much higher play than i am doing. 1
