Just two quick questions for those who have embarked the ship with the medallion---1) how important is the security photo that you have on your app?  2) Is it an issue if you don't have one uploaded?  thanks!

We've never put a security picture on the app.  They take ours at check in.  We are embarking next week and app shows we are in the green lane without a picture.  Happy sailing!🚢

I had taken one beforehand and it was on the app.  They took another one at check-in for both me and my husband.

NP at all!  They frequently

take or retake them upon checkin anyway.

Of all the pre trip items, we found the security picture surprisingly easy to do.  We each took one several years ago with our phone, and have not given it any thought since, nor do we recall having to even slow down when boarding the last several cruises.  It went great.

 

So I went and looked at our pictures (had to use each of our phones - security, after all) We looked a bit younger, and better, but clearly it was us.  I suggest trying to do it before hand, it will save time when at the terminal, and you are sure to end up with a better looking picture.

correct info: Wife's was a head shot placed in our pictures on the phone.

They are very particular about the security picture just like passports photos. No big deal they can snap your picture on boarding

You can upload you own but if they think it not a good representation, they'll just shoot another replacement.

Optional. If you don't upload your photo you stay in the blue lane on the app.

Not true, one of our photos is missing, and we are both GREEN!

 First I've heard that, but good to know. But we'll make sure we both have our pictures in the app if we decide to upload them.

*IF* you have somewhat of a sailing history...they will "roll over" your previous security phots.  We have never uploaded any ourselves.  They took new pics probably 5 or 6 cruises back (~3 years) and we've never had to have any new ones taken.  YMMV

We're in blue and we did upload so don't think that matters.
