Netwiz Posted December 9, 2023 #1 Share Posted December 9, 2023 My wife and I like to have the convenience of a bottle of spirits in the cabin so we can just pour our own in the evening before going out. I can't find up to date info on how this might work on Princess. We did a P&O cruise where we could take a litre each on board with us but Princess allows only a bottle of wine, no spirits. Older info suggests that it was possible to order a half-size bottle of spirits for about the same price as a full bottle on land which is really annoying. Again, on P&O you could order a full bottle for not much of a markup. I imagine that the half bottles (if they still apply) wouldn't be included in any of the drinks packages. Thanks for any info

Rare DHP1 Posted December 9, 2023 #3 Share Posted December 9, 2023 Some have taken more than one bottle per person onboard and never got caught. Further information:- https://www.cruisecritic.com/articles/princess-cruises-alcohol-policy
skynight Posted December 9, 2023 #4 Share Posted December 9, 2023 (edited) Under Manage Booking select Onboard Reservations. Then select Princess Wine & Spirits. You will find a selection of wines and then spirits. Order the bottle you want. Almost all are 375ml. I did notice one that was 350ml. You can carry non alcoholic mixers such as club soda on board. It's 12 cans per person. I'll add that if you have the plus or premier fare you can order drinks delivered to your cabin. The drinks have no extra charge as long as you remain within the 15 drink limit and the price allowed. JLC0912 Posted December 11, 2023 #7 Share Posted December 11, 2023 @runner15km What was the approx. cost of the bottle? I am curious if the cost is the same as it is to pre-order, as Skynight mentioned. We are planning a cruise on Princess and even though we purchased the Plus plan we may get a bottle in the cabin. We did that on our RC cruise and it was just very relaxing to go back to the cabin and mix up a drink and take it with us or drink it on our balcony. No issue of waiting in line, don't have to wait for individually delivered room service drinks.

Just have drinks delivered to your room. You can get it any way you want, so you can get it without ice or mixer and make it yourself as you like. Have the room steward keep fresh ice in your fridge and order the alcohol and mixer separately in the app. 4

Unless you're hitting the max of 15 drinks per day, you can always get a few doubles at any bar (without ice) to keep in the room without spending extra.

Given that you can order '15 beverages' I did enquire of online chat whether a double counted as one or two, and was told that it was two. You are also only supposed to order no more frequently that every 15 minutes, so I don't know if that means you can't order order doubles. At least though it seems unlikely you'd be able to get much of a collection.

We were never denied for being to quick to order. We always like to keep some in the cabin for whatever.

I could get 2 Southern Comfort, no ice, 4 beers for Nerd and each a glass of wine. Now we have our glass of wine and reserves for later. As long as you don’t go over your 15, it’s fine.

We usually get Chambord or Baileys for the cabin & keep it in the fridge. That is if we go with the package, which isn't all the time.

Princess does not have that restriction.

caribill Posted December 12, 2023 #19 Share Posted December 12, 2023 There may be a larger selection of 350ML bottles avialble on board from room service than there are available in advance on the web site. No benefit to ordering in advance as even if you so so, you must call room service to arrange delivery once aboard.
Teechur Posted December 21, 2023 #20 Share Posted December 21, 2023 Fill a wine bottle with liquor and take it onboard with you. No one has ever checked mine. In many places you can walk on board with whatever you choose.
