P&O to charge Lisbon tourist tax from Jan 24

I see that starting in January 2024 Lisbon is to start charging a tourist tax on each Cruise ship passenger at €2 each. Does anyone know if P&O are going to charge the passengers or absorb it in the fare?

If you don't know, then shouldn't you have put a question mark at the end of your thread title? I initially read it as saying that P&O would be charging it. But if it's only 2 euros then I'm not too bothered whether P&O explicitly make a charge for it or not.

I’d like to think that this might result in less port calls to Lisbon, as we’ve been so many times, but as it’s so small I doubt that it will make any difference.

But you are asking "IF" they will be charging, your thread title says they "ARE" charging.

It's always worth getting off. A quick walk into the city centre for a couple of Pastel de Natas washed down with several glasses of Port. Yum

We have been to Lisbon many times and probably done it to death but now we head straight for the train station and go to one of the local towns some of which are really nice.

I would happily pay more because Lisbon is one of my favourite ports. For such a small amount, I am fairly sure P&O would absorb it as an extra cost, at least until the cruises for summer 2026 become available.
