YourWorldWithBill Posted February 11 #1 Share Posted February 11 For those onboard: are they showing the Super Bowl on your ship? In what venue? But most important: will you be watching?

Rare richwmn Posted February 11 #3 Share Posted February 11 I am currently on Volendam, and we just docked in Broome, WA, Australia. The Superbowl is scheduled to start at 7am (in just less than an hour) with kickoff at 7:30 and will be shown in the World Stage as well as on Cabin TVs. The same was true last year on Zuiderdam. I will watch at least part of the game, but probably not all.
Rare 0106 Posted February 11 #4 Share Posted February 11 On the Oosterdam, Super Bowl starts at 8. It will be shown in the Main Theater, Billboard and Gallery Bar starting in 30 minutes. Will report back on the experience on my LIVE thread. BTW, I have never see the commercials the two other times I watched on a ship. Just the live stream of the game.

They don't have rights to the commercials (which really aren't what they used to be).
oakridger Posted February 12 #8 Share Posted February 12 I'm glad they showed the game.....unfortunately, after quite a nail biter in overtime the wonderful 49ers didn't win. Boo 😔 ~Nancy
Rare CruiseIreland Posted February 12 #9 Share Posted February 12 (edited) On Statendam, game shown in World Stage and at Lido poolside with some food provided. Condolences to 49er fans! Edited February 12 by CruiseIreland
Rare Gail & Marty sailing away Posted February 12 #10 Share Posted February 12 We had a great time watching it at the world stage on the Zuiderdam.
oakridger Posted February 12 #11 Share Posted February 12 (edited) It did look like a large turnout for the game. That makes it really fun.....except for the end! Sigh. ~Nancy Edited February 12 by oakridger
X-elite Posted February 12 #12 Share Posted February 12 Volendam had a viewing party this morning in the World Stage and a full Mix bar. Sheet cakes on display in the Lido. Replay available at 1:00 a.m. tomorrow morning! 💤
Rare Haljo1935 Posted February 12 #13 Share Posted February 12 They did a nice job with all the cakes - how fun to not just show the game, but have the customized cakes, too 🏈

YourWorldWithBill Posted February 12 Author #16 Share Posted February 12 Last year I watched in the Westin in Bangkok; similar to what many here said, almost no commercials. The strange thing was that there were a few commercials in the second half. But for all who missed the commercials, you didn't miss much. As some here said, the last few years the commercials have really lost their appeal. There were, however, a couple of decent ones, so you can catch those on YouTube. julia Posted February 12 #17 Share Posted February 12 Very, very few commercials were noteworthy, so you didn't miss much, and that halftime show was a hot mess!

Rare Haljo1935 Posted February 12 #19 Share Posted February 12 I liked the cakes from the very talented bakers that cruisers posted. Never been on a Super Bowl cruise, so I wasn't aware they made those - nice touch.
