Diamond Level Free Drinks

Same here. My trip to the bank for a large stack of singles specifically for voucher drinks has become a nice pre-cruise tradition and lets me know it's getting close.

On family cruises, my young nieces love carrying a few bucks around to tip on their own (virgin) voucher drinks for whatever reason since they like ordering the drinks themselves.

We tip with two dollar bills.  We tipped with one dollar bills a few years back.  Any tip is better than no tip.  We run across newly minted diamonds in the “crown” lounge sans tipping.  Kinda of nudge them that a tipping is a good thing for the hardworking bar staff.

You probably know this, but you can get $1 bills from guest services or the cashier in the casino.

Yep, thanks, I just like taking care of as many mundane tasks pre-cruise as I can.

You may think so? Not one of my $3 bills even got so much as a “Thank you!”

I have heard that, even though they are legal tender in the U.S., $2 bills are not recognized and difficult to change in other countries. I'd be willing to bet that most cruise ship employees would rather receive 2 -$1 bills than 1 - $2 bill.

I'm sure the purser's desk has a means for converting staff's inconvenient forms of cash to more happy ones.

We've had a couple crew members tell us while they certainly appreciate a $2 tip, they hate getting $2 bills.

Can you carry the drinks forward to the next day if not you have not had 4 in one day ??

nope. Use them or loose them.

At the end of the night, before you go back to your cabin, you can get unopened water, soda, or possibly canned/bottled beer for any unused vouchers and put them in your fridge for a future day.

Nope. Use or lose each day. But remember you can grab waters and such to use up your vouchers at the end of the day.

Brandy, cognac, vodka, Margherita (no ice) are better matches 🙂

Pre-breakfast aperitifs…

This line alone completely shoots down the validity of the entirety of the information you were given.

Bar staff DO receive gratuity on C&A Voucher drinks

I am on Independence right now and have showed your post to bartenders at both the Schooner Bar and Casino Bar. All the bartenders insist they don’t get anything for free drinks they provide, but I told them you would never post something misleading online.

Really?? Someone with a vested interest in extracting money from you would give misleading testimony??? Shocking, I say

Thanks but it doesn't matter to me if they do or not honestly, as I tip them anyway when I use the voucher.  And over the cruise you get better drinks!
