I know several. They have the same issues when they have to call Princess. One TA I am using for the next Princess has hung up at least twice on clueless idiots at Princess U. It seemed like the rep had to put her on hold while they asked a manager every question she asked. For questions they really should get everyday.

If they are a TA who books a lot of Princess cruises they should have access to people in customer relations land not have to rely on a call center. My CVP has access

Not all TA’s have access, unfortunately.  They used to have an agency desk for TA’s, but not for all agencies anymore.

One would think. She does have a different number to call. For that matter, she will even be on this cruise. One of the reasons I called her and gave her a future booking was because it seemed impossible for me to cancel a Princess cruise. I was dying on hold and on chat at the same time waiting for a human at the other end. At least she could get someone on the phone even if it was an idiot.

CVPs would have the internal phone directory available, I would think.

Much of the younger generation see Gates as a villain rather than a hero.

Probably the same folks who view Steve Jobs as a "hero". Bill Gates has dedicated vast amounts of time and money to ridding the planet of Polio. If not for corrupt governments, warlords, etc. elsewhere he would be able to accomplish the task. Gates was a hands-on developer of DOS. Steve Jobs never actually invented anything, denied his own daughter (even though he named a horrid computer after her), and died with every nickel he ever managed to squeeze out of people.

Gates should have taken his fortune and lived a quiet life.  Now he (and his foundation) meddles with world affairs.  The problem doesn't lie with his early life accomplishments, but his current life.

Maybe Princess should hire folks at Microsoft to build them an AI platform to answer questions that that are worthy of a hang up when asked to a live person?  I jest.

Another comment re: Younger folks vs older folks tech skills. I once sent a short email to the other folks in my tech unit. They were all considerably  (25 - 30 years) younger than me. I thought it was great "Bill Gates" humor but only one of them "got it".

Well, some of the young people only got the translation, but not the reference.  But FWIW, my college dorms of 50 years ago were named after Middle Earth, so it Rings true for some of us.

A CVP works for Princess.  TAs, even those with big companies, wait on hold unless they gave been provided a direct number by someone.  The numbers TAs use is never nearly as long a wait as the regular customer number.

For some reasons, my regular TA was not able to get the price quoted on the Princess site when she was trying to book our upcoming cruise with the Princess rep. She ended up having us just book it online ourselves. An hour after we booked and paid the whole balance, I received an email from Princess saying the reservation was canceled and cancellation fees charged. We did not cancel. My TA couldn't do anything about it and had me call that number. After being put on hold for a long while, got the first person but was disconnected as we were talking. Called again, put on hold, and got a second person. She did not know why we got the cancellation email as she was able to see our reservation at her end. She was nice enough and assured me that everything is OK, but she said we still owed them a balance of $200+ for packages we did not purchase. She was able to take those off but I am still uneasy about our booking. Hopefully, everything is still there without the extra charge. Don't know what all is going on with Princess. Something needs to be fixed.
