Hope mom feels better real soon.  Please be careful as it is very easy to get dehydrate on a ship in those warm temps!

Yes it is! I’m hoping that’s what it is, that she didn’t drink enough water. It was HOT today with no breeze earlier. I got her some Diet Pepsi, water, and hot tea and she drank it all and is resting now.

After getting Mom provisions I headed out to Alchemy to people watch a bit and have a few drinks. Zoltan was on break, so no pic, sorry. Mihail made me 2 drinks, a “something absinthe” which was good, then a “something raspberry” which was really good. I sipped them and people watched for about an hour, then went to Lido for dinner.

I grabbed a sandwich from the deli, and after I ate it I decided to go back to check on mom. I got a Diet Pepsi and water from the Tides bar, and 2 cups of hot tea to take back. She was awake when I came in and said she’s still got a headache but might feel a tad better. I told her to drink the tea and a bottle of water, she obeyed and said she was going to sleep for the night.

I took my shower and am settling in now myself. I think tomorrow depending how moms feeling we MAY get off to just walk into the port to see if there is a shop with cold meds, just in case. If she’s feeling fine we won’t, we will stay onboard. We dock about 9, so we can sleep in some and let the mad masses get off first.

@pirate4me2..how is Mom doing today?

She says she thinks she’s feeling better. We got off & walked around, then hung in Havana, and have had a quiet afternoon to rejuvenate.

Not too many pictures so far today, I hope you’ll understand!

We got up about 9 am and I went to Lido and got mom some hot tea. After she had drank that, we went and got a light breakfast from Lido, then headed down to the atrium bar to get water to take off the ship with us. I may or may not have also gotten a shot of Buffalo Trace while there.

We got off about 10:15, and meandered thru the port shops. Falmouth has a beautiful port area. We didn’t feel like doing too much tho, so we got back onboard at about 11:15.

Mom had a craving for coffee, so we swung by to see Christian at Java Blue. We each got a cold coffee, then a Naked Juice.

We headed to Havana after that and spent until about 1:30 in the hot tub, then the tiki hut by the pool. We left when Mom said she needed something for lunch. I got the steak & cheese from the deli, it was delicious.

After lunch Mom said she’s still a bit tired, so we have spent the afternoon in the cabin watching free on demand movies. Bride Wars and What Happens in Vegas have both been good!

We did have some pier runners too!! I love watching them. We are now departing to head to Grand Cayman.

@pirate4me2...I LIKE your style of cruising!

Havana is the ONLY way I would cruise on that class of ship moving forward.

Free in room  movies are great, we watched a lot of them on our recent 18 day cruise....room service works great as well!

ENJOY!

Glad mom is feeling better.

Sounds like Mom is on the mend! How busy is the Havana pool area?

During the day it’s busy but always chairs available and room in the pool. At night it’s been deserted, or just 2-3 others.

Sorry for the delay in posting the rest of yesterday, I got….um…sidetracked.

Mom and I went to dinner right at 5:30 again, and had our same table and waitstaff from night 1. They are fantastic! Nino, Sasiya and Shann are the team, and table 717 is in a corner right next to the window. I love it! I got the Girdo Street Salad, Indian Vegetarian, and butter pecan ice cream. Mom and I also wanted to try the eggplant parm, so we got it to split. Nino told us he also wanted us to try the shrimp poke app, it’s his favorite, so we agreed. Oh my gosh y’all, that is my new favorite Carnival app, and I will be ordering it from now on! It’s like a deconstructed sushi roll in a bowl and was so flavorful! The eggplant parm was a let down, Mom and I agreed it needed something….I think maybe some garlic. My Indian Vegetarian tho….oh my. It was SPICY and amazing! Mom’s dessert, the cappuccino pot thing, was nasty….it had a weird texture.

After dinner we went and changed into our swim wear and hit Havana, and again we had the pool and hot tubs to ourselves. I’m loving this! We were in the water for maybe an hour, then Mom said she was winding down. I told her to go take her shower first and I would get a drink at the bar and be right back to the room.

Well….one drink turned into 3 Cuban iced teas and 2 shots, as I made friends at the bar. I met another Stephanie about my age, and her husband, whose name is Chris! We sat and chatted (and drank) for a long time. So long, in fact, that who should come looking for me IN HER PAJAMAS? Thanks Mom for embarrassing me in front of my new friends! She CLAIMS that she was FaceTiming Dad to show him the Havana area and that he wanted to say hi to me…yeah whatever. I felt like a naughty high schooler being caught out drinking past curfew.

Around 11 I decided that I better call it a day. I reached lucky 13 on my Cheers package and was feeling pretty dang good. Those Cuban Iced teas are the bomb, that is my new go-to Havana drink! I came back to the room, took my shower, and Mom grumpily told me to shut the light off, quit talking, and go to bed. SHE is to blame for the lack of evening update. :)

Sounds like fun!  Was the Havana Bar busy (like Alchemy busy) or you were able to get a seat?  Love the visual of your mom coming out in jammies🤣!

We slept in until about 8:30 today, then got ourselves ready to head ashore. Neither Mom nor I are feeling the greatest today….she has lost her voice (did she go party without me last night after scolding me??) and has a little cough, and for some reason my cough has come back. We skipped breakfast and just drank a Naked juice from the Java Blue, figuring that would load us up with fruit and veggies and good-for-us vitamins. We headed down and got right on a tender with no wait, and zipped ashore.

Mom’s plan for the day was to find Dad some new Grand Cayman shirts. We have gotten some for him in the past that are super soft, and he LOVES them and wears them so much he has gotten holes in them…but he still refuses to throw them out and proudly wears them to work. We succeeded in getting him 3 new ones, and then set out on my mission to find us a pharmacy to get cold meds. I thought about restocking my first aid kit before this vacation but never did….bad Stephanie! I usually carry DayQuil JUST IN CASE. Luckily we asked a few locals, who directed us to a little store that had just what we needed and it wasn’t too overpriced. Score!! We met 2 other couples from our ship there, also getting stuff, so I think we just got unlucky and have caught the dreaded “cruise crud.”

In port with us today is Celebrity Constellation, which Mom called a “pretty ship” (personally I think it’s rather ugly) and Odyssey of the Seas, which Mom says is ugly….but I actually think looks kinda nice, minus the ugly arm thing up on the top. Go figure…we always have opposit taste on things!

Our plan now that we are back aboard is to grab some lunch and hang in Havana. More to come later!

I was in swimwear so I was at the outside Havana Bar, with just me and the other Stephanie and Chris. They had the inside open, with music, but I didn’t notice how busy it was in there. Manuel the bartender kept coming to check on us and took good care of us….none of our drinks ever had the chance to go dry.

My guy got cruise crud right after we got home in  Feb from our cruise, lucky me did not, it is NO fun for sure.

I remember you saying that over on the Tribe board about your guy. It’s no fun getting sick on/after vacation!!

Mom and I got lunch after getting onboard. She opted for pizza, I got a veggie burger from the deli, a quiche from the buffet, and a salad. The quiche was blue cheese & delicious!!! After I sat down, I had a brilliant thought: next time I get a veggie burger, I’ll go to Guy’s toppings bar to snazz it up! The burger was yummy. I think I’d also get Guy’s fries too instead of the deli…

To wash it all down, I had a Twilight Zone. Yum!

This afternoon is being spent lounging in Havana (currently all hot tubs are empty and just 4 people in the pool) reading my book and drinking Cuban Iced Teas with Diet Pepsi. So relaxing!

Apparently mom doesn’t like the new nickname I’ve given her…Squeaks. She better be nice to me tho…she needs me to talk for her and place her dinner order, nobody else can hear/understand her!

A great wait team would have it ready sitting at the table before she sits down!

Ahhhhh, what a relaxing afternoon it was! About 3 we came back to the cabin to shower, watch a free on demand movie, read, and in my case, nap. It was glorious y’all, I NEVER nap back home. Well, that’s a lie, when I was so sick a few weeks ago I did, but this was that “I’m on vacation and the sun wore me out and I am just SO relaxed” kind of nap. It was only 30 minutes, but it totally recharged me.

At 5:30 Squeaks got hungry, so we dolled ourselves up for elegant night. We got a different table tonight but the same wait team. Service was a little slower tonight, but I think that’s because it was much busier. I got the calamari and the spinach salad as starters, the crawfish fettuccine main, and cream brûlée for dessert. Mom got the herb crusted salmon as her main. My calamari were perfect, salad delish, and fettuccini hit the spot. However, I tried Mom’s salmon, and y’all….it was FANTASTIC!! I actually think that was better than the fettuccine! My cream brûlée was a letdown, it was COLD, but whatever….I was full.

While at dinner my husband sent me a message that they are taking my Grandma to the hospital, she fell today and cannot walk on her leg. She refused to go when her son wanted to take her, but when Chris (an advanced EMT) got home and checked her out he told her she needs to go. He doesn’t THINK anything is broke but said there were a few things that worried him. Ugh, I hate being away and not able to do anything, but I know she is in good hands.

I went to Java Blue and Christian whipped me up a hot tea to sip on to calm my nerves, and now I am chatting with y’all. We have no big plans for tonight, I may venture out to watch karaoke at 9:45, but that’s about it. Tomorrow is our last port of call, Cozumel. I am looking forward to it, as we actually have an excursion planned!
