The server and asked if they were too much - Ha ha they are only about 4 or 5 inches round. I said - "Honestly, those are the worst pancakes I have ever had in my life" They were cold, dry, just awful. I think they are frozen pancakes that they just microwave. I would have waited for them to make fresh new ones right off the griddle. I hate it when they prepare items a hour ahead of time & sit them under a heat lamp. This time it's the brand-new Sun Princess, sailing on a 10-day voyage from Barcelona to Rome. Our ports include Mallorca, Sicily, Athens, Kusadasi Turkey, Santorini (maybe), and Naples. We just arrived in Barcelona after an overnight flight YYZ-EWR-BCN. We'll be seeing some of Barcelona including the Sagrada Familia before boarding tomorrow. Stay tuned for lots of photos and videos of the new ship. Hopefully they'll have the entertainment venues open this cruise. Steve. Thank you Steve for the best Live, I’ve ever seen. Answered all my questions and great photos too!

Tlria Posted April 26 #1183 Share Posted April 26 Question: are there any pools which one could "walk" into rather than using a ladder?

Rare CanadianBurger Posted April 27 Author #1185 Share Posted April 27 So lots of changes announced by Princess. Looks like there is a new category of staterooms called “Sanctuary Class”. I think this replaces Reserve Class, and it looks like if you want access to the Sanctuary you’ll need to book one of these cabins. Even then, there are far more people in those cabins than will fit in the Sanctuary, so who knows how it will be handled.

Hi Steve, yes major changes with Reserve Collection disappearing, and suites having to share some of their perks with another 135 staterooms! Will be interesting to see how it all pans out. Wanted to thank you again for all your info from your live from - we had a brilliant time checking out the secret decks!
beshears Posted June 11 #1187 Share Posted June 11 I know your cruise is over now, but there are 7 or 8 of us that may be doing the Sun, and I'm enjoying reading/seeing the pictures, and eventually I will catch up. 🙂
beshears Posted June 11 #1188 Share Posted June 11 I loved the "colorful" picture of the pansies flowers that are eatable. So if there are 7 or 8 of us and we want to eat in the MDR, which I believe could be on 3 different decks???, do you know which deck this would be? I believe you said you seen very few large tables, and that does make sense, as normally there are not large group of people that cruise at one time. The MDR situation all depends upon which type of dining you wish to partake in. If you want traditional, with early or late seating, you'll be on deck six. If you want Your Time dining, so you can eat when you wish each day with flexibility, then you'll be on deck seven. If you want casual walk in dining similar to a diner, then you'll be on deck eight. beshears Posted June 17 #1191 Share Posted June 17 I wanted to THANK those of you who responded to my questions in regard to the Princess Sun ship. I shared this information with those that are planning on cruising with me, and it looks like they want to do a longer cruise, which surprised me, but at this time, it looks like we are looking that direction. Once again, thank you for your response.

The premium soft serve and the Granitas ARE COMPLIMENTARY for Plus package guests, they just count towards the two premium desserts per day. This is wonderful, as one of those sundae monstrosities is enough for the whole cruise! The lemon granita is quite flavorful. Here’s the BUT… the premium soft serve isn’t working. So deck 9 is the soft serve spot. @CanadianBurger Thank you for sharing. Do you know if the granitas are dairy free. I hope so because it would be wonderful to be able to have a little treat when everyone else is having one. Dairy allergies, stink!

There are times I look at things and think they are dairy free but then I am told that dairy products have been used. So I was just wondering if you knew. I’ve learned the hard way never to assume. I wanted to try one when we were on in April but we ended up sharing a premium dessert instead. .Will definitely have more time to try a granita when we go back in September - should be warmer weather too! . On one hand it’s pretty cool, but on the other hand (or should I say foot) it’s kind of gross because someone’s head will be where people’s feet have been. Hopefully they have a towel station nearby. 😂

Also looking forward to it since we will be upgrading our Plus package to Premier while onboard the Sun in October and January. The lemon sounds appealing, even more so if mixed with the premium vanilla soft serve.
