Hope your first day back at school goes well! I'd wish you calm students, but coming from someone who has worked at a middle school himself...I know better than to wish for the impossible.

I'm a shell of myself today. Thank goodness for a district snapshot test

I just caught up with the unfortunate saga of your return.  Glad you finally made it.  Having to fly anywhere these days is a special hell.  If only every cruise could start and end in Galveston!

A test on the first day back from break?  That is just wrong!  For the kids, I mean.

The good thing is these district snapshots don't count as a grade for the kids. Just a data collection thing we all have to do. No prep required. The bright side for me is that it makes for a pretty easy day, which I really needed after last night.

For sure! I just love visiting (and sailing away from!) too many other places! In the summertime, when I go solo, I may start going full @Jamman54 and road tripping it soon. @HelloItsMeB will not have that, which i totally understand, but by myself? I love the good road trip, and I have come to absolutely despise almost everything about air travel as I get older. The most turbulent flight I've ever had last night didn't help matters.

So I make it through security and go through the big body scanner machine… I come out, the TSA agent sighs, and says “sir, I’m sorry for you and for me….” (I think he’s joking with me at this point) “….but I’m going to have to do is physical search of you in these areas. I look at the screen, and the little man is glowing bright red exclusively in the crotch and…. Back crotch.

He puts on gloves and asks me if I want to do this in private…. I just looked down and mumbled “Nah… it’s fine right here”

vacation is over, y’all. #insertjokehere

One time I was flying home from Sarasota visiting my dad. I had come straight to the airport from the beach, and still had on my swimming trunks with nothing on under them. Something similar happened with the body scanner, and they wanted to do a "frisk search"... The guy pulls out a flashlight and shines it down my shorts. Unfortunately I had just come from the beach, so there may have been some "shrinkage" involved. Luckily I was cleared to fly, and went on my way...

If you have the time,  road tripping is the way to go. Carry all the luggage you want with no worries about the weight. No rental cars or paying for uber's. Yes, there will be some extra hotel stays, and you do have to pay for  gas, but you get to take in some of the sights that you don't get from 39,000 feet. It's all about the planning. 😎

AMEN and I second this vote for road tripping!

What app is this?

Maybe it’s Google Maps. That’s what I used to locate where we were on our cruise last October, did a screenshot and posted it on my LIVE review on Cruise Critic IMG_5816.thumb.jpeg.44cd30664261ce6c0e959697ab83dc30.jpeg

Thank you for doing this live report - appreciate taking the time, efforts and energy to post and merging pictures, etc. - a very good, detailed look of this old Sun.  Going from one of the newest ship in the fleet to one of the oldest later this year.  Her fairly recent dry dock surely help to refresh her looks and it showed.  Our friends took her on a TA crossing, like it despite the odd layout and commented about the height of the stools but mostly about the low chairs & sofa (cushions) - sink into them & not easy to get up.

I miss Food Network right now. Do the newer ships get anything besides in house and news channels?

Loving this review - on the Prima, there're as many "current" channels as the older & mid-sized NCL ships, if not fewer.  Definitely no Food Network, half of them beinf info-channel.

This might be as close as I get to the pool. It’s warm out, but the pool has stayed icy for some reason. I’m normally able to spend spring break cruises logging a lot of pool time, but not this year. Maybe later.

The main pool isn't heated ?   Oops, that's not good since we will be sailing her this Fall.  For folks that like to take a dip on colder sea days, that's not good.

Thank you! Yeah, unfortunately the pools were pretty chilly. The last couple of days some folks made it in in the late afternoon when it warmed up enough, but for the most part the hot tubs stayed packed

Your dinner looked so good. I wanted steak but had pork chops, cooked in the air fryer. Lesson learned don't be lazy and fire up the grill next time

Getting the feeling that the pools are too cold this cruise. Nobody’s ever in there. Gonna find out for sure tomorrow.

Weather in South Florida/Caribbean has been rather cold this winter.  Not surprised the pool temperature was too low for most.

@TxTeach79 enjoyed following along. Good to know that that day use hotel worked out well for you. I had looked into that to try after the tribe cruise last January. Unfortunately, I waffled back-and-forth too long, and when I finally decided to do it the time I needed was already gone, so I spent the day at MIA. Good times. Lol.

Casino question: can you charge from a machine onto your account like you can on Carnival, Princess and HAL, or do you have to have cash to put in the machines?

You definitely CAN, but NCL charges a 3% fee to do so. Kinda chintzy IMHO.

well, that is just stinky. Thanks for the heads up. And they probably charge more to use their ATM. I was in Vegas last month and they charge I think it was $9.95. But on my bank statement they credited it to me so I was happy with that.

Sorry I missed you live, but I managed to get caught up. That sure went by too fast, but it was fun while it lasted.

And just because no one else did ...
