Do these two cabins actually have an aft, wake view balcony?

I can't seem to pull up the deck plan but the description says:

Stateroom Number: 14636
Type: Deluxe Balcony

Category: DD
Location: Aft
Deck: 14 (Fourteen)
Bath Type: Shower
Connecting Room: N/A
Average Size: 320 sq. ft.

  • chamima changed the title to 14636 and 14637 on Sun Princess - true aft balconies?

We're going to be one deck below this cabin in June. I've looked extensively at aft photos of the Sun Princess and it sure looks like they're going to be great wake view balconies, the only ones on the ship BTW.

Still waiting for someone to post photos from these balconies though. That would confirm it.

When you hover over the cabin on the deck plans on Princess.com it says, "

(Wheelchair-accessible)

This balcony stateroom provides outstanding views from a deluxe private balcony, and bathroom with shower. Includes sofa bed."

These 2 Cabins on each floor are Accessible. Accessible cabins aren't always available to book on line because they like to save them for passengers who actually need them. That doesn't mean you can't get one, but you might have to answer a couple questions regarding your needs. How you answer those I'm not saying. I do know that out traveling companions are sailing in one on deck 12 April 27th and I'll do my best to post photos of the cab1n is someone else hasn't already by then. We're in an aft Inside Cabin on 17 so we're planning on spending a lot of time with our friends on 12. LOL

We will be in 17636 in a few weeks and were also curious about this. Here's a picture of the stern taken about 10 days ago. It appears all those last cabins do have a balcony where the railing wraps around so you can look out to the wake. And I also added 2 pictures taken by the person who had our cabin on the innaugural cruise (it's a suite so the balcony is longer, but the aft end should be the same). It looks like your balcony should wrap around in a similar manner.

The aft facing cabins can be booked online, if available. You must  verify  that one passenger needs an accessible cabin.  Maybe more clarification will be needed after booking. The rooms are larger for this category. Next to stairs and elevators. Only heard from passenger in aft suite it was a bit noisy in aft location and hears door.

Lower floors for these cabins might smell smoke from the aft smoking area. Maybe not so much while the ship is in motion but certainly there's a good chance when the ship is docked or moored.

Saw a fb post of someone on  deck 11, above casino and they said smokers stench was terrible in their hallway.

Having seen some aft photos of the Sun Princess taken at night, it's lit up with bright blue lights. This reminded me of a Marina deck cabin we once had on the Royal Princess that was externally illuminated with purple lights at night. I really didn't like it and am curious to hear how it is in the aft-facing cabins.

Here is a photo taken from deck 8, those would appear to be balconies.  If so, they are huge!

I do notice that there is a lot of deck space below between the balconies and the sea/wake.

I do wonder if Princess will have a problem with people who are not truly dependent on a wheelchair booking into these rooms.   The lack of aft facing wake-view balconies on this ship ia a 'miss'!!!

Beg3yrs, where is the aft smoking area on the Sun Princess.  Is it very big?

I can't say firsthand as I am not sailing on the Sun Princess until June 1.

That said, I've read a report on CC the smoking area is located on the Wake View Terrace.
