Rare LACruiser88 Posted May 2 Author #526 Share Posted May 2 (edited) We are almost there! During the Captain's update today, he advised that we should be able to see the Island of Hawaii early this evening. Big day for the crew tomorrow as they all have to go through CBP inspection, Ship Coast Guard Inspection, and "maybe" surprise Ship Health inspection. Tomorrow's forecast looks good! A strong 90 pointer! I wish they'd put it on the Australian Plus list. There is no straight Shiraz at all on that list. They have it on board Coral at the moment but only by the bottle.

Rare LACruiser88 Posted May 2 Author #536 Share Posted May 2 We finally made it through CBP by 9:45. Line moved fairly quickly once you were in the terminal. In Waikiki, weather is perfect! Debbie's first stop of the day. She has been biting at the bit to shop. I think I'll be carrying lots of bags by the end of the day!!! 🥺 4

Rare LACruiser88 Posted May 3 Author #538 Share Posted May 3 Today we racked up some serious mileage. After spending the day shopping in Waikiki and having a great lunch at the Paia Fish Market (our favorite!), we walked to the Ala Moana mall. After visiting a number of shops, we walked aaallllll the way back to the ship! We made it back to the ship at 5:30 pm. Needless to say our feet were a bit tired. We showered, ordered room service, opened a bottle of Shiraz, and hooked up Netflix! ¡Buenas Noches!

We were in group 2,even though they didn't call any groups, and were off pretty quick and in a Uber home. Tree trimmer got there before us but it was a very productive day.

We bring HDMI cable for the back of the TV and the below adapter for my phone. You can use the toggle at the bottom of the TV to switch input to HDMI. We now bring the below universal remote to switch inputs ($9 on Amazon). Make sure TV is on a "Live" channel or bridge cam before switching input. The most difficult part of the operation is getting the HDMI cable hooked up to the back of the TV. Once hooked up, we leave the HDMI cable connected for the duration of the cruise (last photo). 3
Rare LACruiser88 Posted May 3 Author #543 Share Posted May 3 Good morning Sea Day #1 of 6 and Cruise Day #25! It is very windy and seas are choppy. I hope it is not like this all the way to Vancouver. 2

Unfortunately, the Lahaina location burned in the fire so now we have to drive all the way to Paia for that treat. We also lost Kimo's which was my favorite fine dining location. Fortunately, we still have Duke's, which is a sister restaurant and #1-rated Mama's Fish House, but it is stupid-expensive. 😬 We usually only go there once a year.
Rare LACruiser88 Posted May 3 Author #547 Share Posted May 3 Below you will find a two page list of the current "discounted" voyages (20% to 50%) being offered on the Majestic Princess. However, the catch is that they will not tell you which ones are 50% off. You have to pick a voyage and a cabin type that you are interested in and then they will quote you a fare for that cabin. They very clearly stated that the fares/discounts fluctuate "daily" based on the occupancy at the time they check the fare. Sounds like a shell game to me! I'm going to pick out a couple of voyages and see what kind of discount they offer. It feels like playing roulette! 3

Ohana & us go to Paia Fish Market here in Kihei a short drive from our house but maybe the Paia location might be nicer. Kimo’s will be greatly missed & we’ll go to their other restaurants…Hula Grill & Leilani’s…in Ka’anapali. 😋 Edited May 4 by Astro Flyer
that Posted May 4 #549 Share Posted May 4 (edited) The O.N.E. Group operating the Future Cruise Dept is “scam” to us Yet we will now adopt “shell game” as a more apt title. Edited May 4 by that 1
