The food trucks will be parked down near there, great eats if you want to try off the ship since you have an overnight.  Great street food!

I was just wondering if anyone got a second item mini bar setup in Auckland?

We are doing the 30 days cruise from Sydney to Vancouver.I received the 1st mini bar in Sydney. I get only 1 cruise credit plus a second credit for single room occupancy .

In the past (2020, 2022, 2023). I had received two mini bars from Vancouver to Sydney ( 29 & 31 days ) in a DOUBLE occupancy cabin. Each person in the cabin got 2 cruise credits

I wonder if things are different on the Sydney to Vancouver cruise vs Vancouver to Sydney cruise.

Thx

Anyone offering snorkeling excursions once off the ship in Papeete?

I’m not on this ship but have done Tahiti by cruises before (as recently as last year on Windstar which was great).  Moorea is the better snorkel locale so if you can get one there, far better. Just FYI

Was the cruise available from Sydney to Auckland only?  In my experience, that has made a difference in the past. If it was, then a second minibar setup has been provided. If not, then no.

There are a LOT of folks selling black pearls in the Municipal Market that is across the street and a half block in from where the ship docks.  No idea of quality but basically you can't throw a stone without hitting someone selling black pearls when in French Polynesia.

Totally agree they are everywhere thus the desire for a recommendation. If anyone has made a purchase and highly recommends the store please do share.

Even though it was hot and humid today, we had a fantastic day!

Debbie doing her pre-shopping, we went into at least 20 shops and the Central Market.  The crew had a drill this morning and our friends could not get off the ship until 11:30.

After all of her pre-shopping, she determined that the best black pearls to price ratio, was at the 1st floor vendors at the Central Market.

If you wanted to pay $1,000+ USD for a pair of earrings, the shops on the main street were the places to buy.

Our friends had a budget of $300 to $350 USD.  At the Central Market they found nice $200 earrings.  Debbie was able to negotiate them down to $120.  Everyone was happy!

Photos from the Central Market.

It was, but no 2nd mini-bar setup.  There were 900 passengers that were only on from Sydney to Auckland.  We picked up 400 new passengers in Auckland.

Pre-COVID, that would have meant a re-stock.

Panda Express uses only fresh ingredients. You will find it better than many Chinese restaurants. Particularly if you don’t live in an area with many Asians.

Thanks, we will give Harmony a try!

Anyone offering snorkeling excursions once off the ship in Papeete?

Last year when we were here you could only exit the dock area by walking to the left along the dock to a small park area. This year you can exit to the right directly to the street. If you go to the left you'll run into people selling all types of tours, both for Papeete and for Moorea. This area is also where the food trucks are at night.

We spoke to the Room Steward in that section.  He said that space houses AC equipment.  Below is a photo of the space...
