FLAlaska Posted March 31 #155 Share Posted March 31 Can we bring back the 24hr hold option when booking on line? That’s all..I’m easy. oh, and on cruises over 7 days the plus package perks should reflect that. If $60 per day on a 7 gives you 2 casuals, a 14 should give you 4 3

I've been swarmed when I suggest that Princess has every right to ensure the drinks on a person's package are only consumed by that person. memoak Posted April 1 #160 Share Posted April 1 If we went back to the past and paid for every drink ala carte and had limited WiFi minutes many of us would have a much higher bill. Packages are not for everyone. There is no way to make individual packages for each passenger.

Celebrity used to do this in the past - you could choose between the drinks package, internet, gratuities and OBC. Any combination from one to all. For example Princess could offer: - Drinks packages - full, no-alcohol but coffees etc, sodas, coffees only - Internet - Gratuities for non-Australian cruises - Speciality dining x number per y days depending on length of cruise - fitness classes x number per y days depending on length of cruise - OBC or Excursion credits - Laundry package (like HAL has) Select your options then the package price is shown which you can accept, change or decline 1

Believe me there would still be people that want to specify exactly how many alcohol drinks the can have and probably some will want to pay for reserve dining to a avoid lines. I am afraid it is just not possible to satisfy everyone. If you create one package exchanging alcohol for non alcohol there will still be ones who want a package with 3 drinks no casual and 4 specialty dinners

When traveling just the two of us, we wouldn't use them. When traveling with the family group, the fixed dining was very convenient. Yes, many people want the return of the old fixed dining options as options. With three dining rooms, they used to have one with fixed early and late, one with fixed early followed by anytime, and one with anytime. The one with fixed early followed by anytime was similar to what they have now with a lot of reservations when they open, but it was more efficient. They don't even have to have an entire restaurant with fixed dining. I notice they are going back to offering a fixed option on their newest ships. I would not want to travel with a large family group with the current DMW. It was definitely much better with fixed dining. I will be taking a family Alaska cruise this fall with five couples. We will be eating in Reserve Collection, so we should not have a problem eating together whenever we want. Pre-COVID, we did a group with four couples eating in Club Class and it was great. But I don't think the large group experience would be that great anymore if you're not in Reserve Collection.
Thrak Posted April 1 #164 Share Posted April 1 No Indoor Smoking - Period Volume Button For Announcements - I LOVE this one Kill Baked Alaska Parade (or at least the napkin waving) Bring back Ice Cream and Sorbet selections at dinner - not just at lunch (Wife's Request) Add Bulleit Rye to bar menus (My Request) Extend MDR breakfast until 10 AM (Great Suggestion!) Elite discount on Plus/Premier Discount for Plus/Premier if you don't use the gym or the desserts If the second person in the cabin is not of legal drinking age allow the other one to purchase Plus or Premier without forcing them to buy it for the underage cruiser 4:00 PM Milk and Cookies!!! (Loved that little benefit) Opt out for the stupid lanyard and medallion holder (PLEASE!) Personal wish list items: Teach Laundry Staff what "NO STARCH" means Install a "scent detector" that flags people who douse themselves with scent and then fine them BAN Mark Villar as an "entertainer"!!! There is nowhere to sit in those cabins other than one desk chair or stool so someone has to sit on the bed, and it's much nicer if it's been made up. We shower in the evenings and I hate having wet towels around the bathroom all night. They never seem to dry properly on those miniscule towel racks and there is nowhere else to put them except on the floor. We also shower before dinner after returning from excursions. Also we leave our laundry on the bed when we go to dinner instead of worrying if the steward will pick it up early enough to meet the deadline the next morning. You don't need to come anywhere near that to make the package worth it. I agree. The 15 drink per day limit and the requirement for everyone in a cabin to purchase the package are both for the same reason - to limit sharing. The cost of the few times people drank over 15 per day was so small that it had no impact on the bottom line. In fact, people probably drink more now than they did before the limit, since some people will treat the 15 as a goal they need to meet. The people who violated the rules by sharing hurt the rest of us.

I'm a very light drinker, but like an occasional specialty coffee. IMO the packages are NOT A VALUE for a light and non-drinker. YMMV. I really struggle with being taken advantage of with the packages. Maybe something like a tiered package, 5, 10, 15 drinks at graduating prices. One size does not fit all. I'd even be happy if they just brought back the coffee package or at least let elites trade the minibar for specialty coffees like we used to do. 2/ Do away with the surcharge to choose your own cabin. That is actually preventing me from booking a cruise I am looking at because I do not want Princess to choose for me. I have more, but this is enough for now. I totally agree with both of these points! Not being able to choose your own cabin is super annoying. On my last cruise I got lucky and got a bit of an upgrade to an aft facing balcony cabin, but I would much rather be able to choose my own cabin. And as a non-drinker I would love that option for a no alcohol Plus package.

Rare Ken the cruiser Posted April 1 #169 Share Posted April 1 Our only wish is they finally retire Bravo. Sorry, we’ve seen that show so many times. We like the Queen and James Bond songs, but get up and leave when the opera singer starts singing. Now if they switch the Les Miserable songs with Phantom of the Opera songs, that would definitely be a positive move in the right direction, at least for us. 😁

I'm not suggesting options within drinks packages, just bundling the selected standard drinks package of whatever type with whatever is chosen from the other things. But those who don't drink alcohol might like to be able to choose a no-alcohol drinks package bundled with internet and gratuities say. Essentially every item would have a bundle price and the chosen items added together would give the package price for that person. It actually wouldn't be technically difficult to implement, especially with the medallion technology.

CalLuvsCrusingToo Posted April 1 #174 Share Posted April 1 (edited) So many great suggestions! Does anyone from Princess EVER Read them? 1. Top of my list is Non smoking casino! It reeks & miserable in there and drifts outside! Smokers CAN find Other places that are allowed. 2. I like the person who suggested MUSIC, lets call it read the room! So many oddball B side songs that REPLAY over and over. Who plays Slow sappy ballads in the casino and Other places?🤦♂️🤦♀️ We need Happy, Upbeat!!🤩 Its suppose to FUN, vacation! And Look at your Demo audience! Play that, but ADD songs so they don't repeat every 6-8-10 hours! I would volunteer for that job, just to get it right. You're welcome Princess. 3. And while I'm dreaming.... how about Change your most watched TV shows with Different episodes! I've seen the SAME Frasiers, and Everybody Loves Raymonds, and Rebas on Every ship! Isn't there a way to Change seasons, instead of the same dozen episodes for YEARS? How many people want to read the Same book on every cruise? Thats how I feel about the same-o episodes on every ship. Time to Change seasons, forpetesake. Carry on....
