This is the same for ALL E-Class ships. There's no other location for Gelato.
miched Posted April 5 #4 Share Posted April 5 The last time on the Beyond we went to get our free scoop of gelato. We were ready to give our card and was told it wasn’t needed as they didn’t charge for the gelato. There was only one flavor per day. Sometimes there is a very long line and other times walk up. It is in the buffet at the ice cream station. We recently got off of doing 3 cruises on Celebrity and didn’t even bother getting our free scoop on any of those cruises. It doesn’t seem to be any different than their ice cream. Put the two side by side and get it the taste test. Wouldn’t pay extra for it. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

Only one or two flavors now and you can get 2 FREE scoops as well. So I don't consider it a perk any longer. (At least on E-class) 1
Rare NutsAboutGolf Posted April 5 #7 Share Posted April 5 Just adding a datapoint, we just got off the Summit this past Monday, Ms Nuts is Elite, I'm Elite+, they did take and take our SeaPasses when getting our free gelato

When the Edge first debuted the Gelato at the Oceanview Cafe did indeed have a charge. That was only recently eliminated on E-Class.
realnice46 Posted April 6 #9 Share Posted April 6 You can’t call what they serve ice cream let alone call what they refer to as gelato. If you’ve ever had Hagen Daz or Ben and Jerry’s or real gelato don’t waste your calories with Celebrity’s imitations.

Are you familiar with the ice cream Standards of Identity (21 CFR 135.110) as currently written as opposed to what was originally recognized as the standard for ice cream ingredients? Celebrity's ice cream is ice cream and may just contain less of the "junk" ingredients, such as gums and milk solids, which are now allowed to give artificially the mouth feed of an ice cream made with the original ingredients of cream and sugar. Breyer's ice cream was a true ice cream (no gums or other emulsifiers, milk solids, etc) but had to chance their formulation to compete with the artificially induced mouth feel of brands such as Edy's and other brands regarded as "premium." Many people wouldn't recognize a quality ice cream (no or minimal use of the emulsifiers and milk derivatives used to boost the milk fat content) because they have never had real ice cream.

I still like DQ ice cream. Tastes better than some you mention.😄
