Just returned and I bought my vases in board!!!! Which I LOVE!!!

husband thinks they were made in China.. I disagree and say made in the Netherlands, but there are no marks in either.. anyone know by chance for a fact where they are made at?

I have no idea but I purchased 2 on our South Pacific cruise when I ordered flowers for our cabin as we were on for 35 days.  I also ordered 2 for friends on the ship.  I found it difficult to decide which vase as they were all so pretty!

Do they sell the vases on board.  I thought they looked very pretty online but couldn't decide which one so would like to see them before deciding.

They are pretty vases.   Perhaps you can write guest relations and ask.  I have written them with such questions, it takes them a while to track it down but they usually will get back to you.

I purchased two on the Koningsdam.  At one of the flower arranging demonstrations, the florist said they were made in Holland.

It might be this company that makes them. Their website shows one 4-tulip vase, and those miniature houses that you find in the Dutch Cafe.

The vases on board aren't signed or stamped on the bottom like the expensive ones are elsewhere; however they might be producing them specially for HAL. Just a guess!

The florist on the Rotterdam said the vases are made in Holland but there is no mark on the vase. On our trans Atlantic he ran out of some of the designs. I was hoping when we stopped in Rotterdam new ones would come on board but they didn’t. Disappointed in that.

My sister and I both bought 2 vases each on out cruise in June. When we got home and she used hers, she found that one of them leaks. It looks like the bottom seams were properly glazed so the water seeps through the pottery.

Anyone else have this happen? Is there anything she can do to get a replacement?

Thanks

Lois

Good to know as I plan to buy a few for gifts. To aavaoid any leaking vases, I'll fill each with water while still on the ship - if they leak, I can return them and avoid seeking replacements.

I had a vase that "leaked" along the bottom perimeter because the glaze inside wasn't solid enough. Loved the vase, so I picked up a spray can of the "as seen on TV seals all sorts of leaks" clear material - it worked after I sprayed inside and outside of the vase - sometimes, condensation presents as a leak, so I always use a cork pad or glass plate under a vase or flower pot to protect wood surfaces.

I bought an arrangement on board and picked out the vase I like best. It was a 21 day cruise and some of the flowers started to fade.  I called the front desk and ask for my flowers to be refreshed, expecting to pay for a new arrangement but much to my delight the florist came to my room and refreshed the arrangement without a charge.

Just a shout out to the fabulous florist on the Westerdam.  DD gave me a birthday arrangement that was absolutely gorgeous with lillies, roses, carnations, freesia and ferns.  This is the arrangement after seven days still looking great. It killed me to toss the flowers to take the vase home.
