Enchanted Princess specialty restaurant reservations.

We made a reservation a few weeks ago on the Enchanted Princess in a reserve mini suite with a premier package.  On the app it shows that we receive 2 specialty meals but then asks for our credit card number and so we are confused. We do not want OBC as can’t imagine using it with all that is already included. This will be our first Princess cruise and will probably have more questions and thank everyone in advance.

I tried to also do a complimentary dinner on the app.  Couldn’t get past choosing the time and date.  Error message.  Went to the web based “app”. I was able to reserve time and date.  Confirmed, no page showing “credit”.  Went straight through to payment charge.  
 

Checked my Credit Card.  Yup….pending payment.  I went back in and deleted reservation.  Yup….pending negative balance.  
 

I’ve never had any luck making pre-cruise reservations.  I gave up.  Will do it when I board.

What is weird (and annoying) is my 2 specialty restaurant credits is on the app but then still wants to charge you. The only problem I can see with waiting is not getting the restaurant, date and time I want which kind of negates the benefit. Good luck!

We disembarked the Enchanted two days ago after two weeks aboard. 

Another poster had a question about when to book specialty restaurants, so I kept an eye on them when walking past. There was never, that I saw, a full venue at Crown Grill, Sabatini's or The Catch. For that matter, casual dining Gigi's. If my experience hold true for your sailing, you should be able to choose your seating times once aboard by walking up.

One casual venue was constantly packed, O'Malley's. You can stand in the Piazza and watch and listen to the Irish music, but always a long line to get in.

Since you say you are new, some included things to try are the on deck pizza. New to me was the Prime Burger at Salty Dog Grill. A really good burger included in your fare. World Fresh buffet was repetitious, some hits, some misses.

When I am making the specialty dining reservations (premier package), it says - you have credits towards this purchase, and the balance is $0. The new app is truly hit or miss.

 

It's weird. Right now it says - cover charge $39 pp, subtotal $156, total $0. Reserve with the credit card...

Thank you everyone. Up until now we only sailed on Celebrity where we were able to use OBC for all purchases made as soon as we paid the deposit. I guess I will have to remember all cruise lines have their own set of rules. 
 

mtnesterz, how did you enjoy your cruise on Enchanted?

We also just disembarked the Enchanted two days ago.  And we had the Premier package and were able to reserve our two comped specialty restaurants on the app in advance.  But I think it was on the old app so I cannot comment about the new one.  It did not ask for my credit card when I did it and have a $0 balance.  I would definitely call if you want to get in at specific times.  Unless you are in a full suite you cannot count on space being available (the suite concierge can work wonders for you).  Although at times there may be tables available they may not have the staff to cover all of the tables so they may not allow them to be reserved.  We ate 4 times at specialty restaurants all at 7 PM. Except for Sabatini's every table was filled at that time.  If you can't make the reservations on the web version I would call to have them do it for you.

We have never had a problem booking 7:30 reservations on the day we decide to eat at a SD. We look at the nights menu in the morning and if we don’t like the choices we just go to Sabatini’s or Crown Grille

We have Premier for our upcoming Enchanted sailing and the app recognized our package and we did not have to pay.  It zeroed out amount to pay.  Some people report a glitch when they tried it and others had no problem.

At risk of running long in answering, Let me say that on the first week, we met and talked with Don, from Don's Family Vacations. His YouTube video review of the Enchanted was shot that week, which you can view. He talks about being authentic talking with people. So, I will be when answering you.

We have sailed Celebrity and thought the food was better than Princess. Food was a disappointment compared to previous sailings.

Onboard service was, as always with Princess, problem free, staff are well trained and polite.

Honestly, we didn't enjoy this cruise as much as others. We blame ourselves for booking a Caribbean itinerary where the deck parties and overall energy were too much. We've cruised enough that we should have anticipated this. 

Three suggestions. Take the stairs, elevator wait time is annoying. Get to the theater early for a seat. On deck 6, walk through Take Five to avoid smokers in the casino. Enjoy!
