Here is the latest update of 2024 for the Dry Docks, Charters & Groups information.

There has been some activity since the March update, so check your dates!  There are a few gaps in sailing schedules so I have included most of them as 'Possible Charter' or 'Possible Dry Dock' until more information can be found.

For any errors, I apologise in advance!

 

As usual, if you can provide any information on upcoming Dry Docks, Charters or Groups, then please post to this thread and I will update the information in the next file.

Looking at the HAL site for cruises in Alaska June/July 2025.  The Westerdam doesn't have any dates for June 6, 2025 until July 6, 2025.  Is the Westerdam in dry dock or have a group for a month?

My Nieuw Amsterdam March 30, 2025, just got cancelled due to "operational requirements".

I'm guessing a charter. This is the week after the Dave Ramsey charter.

But that is on a different ship!

If HAL get an offer to charter a ship, be sure that they will take it.  Any compensation offered or costs incurred in cancelling regular guests will just be rolled into the price of the charter.

Nieuw Amsterdam between January and April seems to attract the most charters.

Not aware of any dry dock in March 2023.  Her routine dry dock was December 2023 and the previous one was December 2017.  However there was a ship that had azepoid/propulsion problems and it may have been Nieuw Amsterdam.

It was NA last season - soon to leave for Alaska - I can't remember if they sent her to Freeport before her April repositioning. I do remember about the azipods.

I thought it was NA ok, but hoped that someone would have a fresher memory of it.  Thanks!

It sounds familiar that they had to reschedule a cruise for the work to be carried out after they had completed a couple of cruises at reduced speed and reduced port calls.

With a fresher memory, I was aboard the NA on her Panama Canal repositioning cruise last October.  On October 17th, the Captain announced that there was an issue with one of the azipods that would cause the ship to miss the port of Cartagena and proceed directly to FLL for repairs at a much slower speed.  The scheduled departure from FLL on October 21st was delayed until October 23d to allow repairs.  For those on B2B, it meant an additional $50 OBC and 25% of a future cruise.  A new itinerary was developed with a first stop on October 24th. Divers made the repairs and the ship departed on October 23d.

 

Before the Shops opened, the line was reported to have more than 300 guests with new OBC ready to spend.

 

One of the NA azipods had been borrowed for the past two years and was scheduled for replacement during the December drydock.  I don't know if that was the damaged one.  Hope this helps.

I merely reviewed my "Live Thread" for that cruise.  It must be noted that those passengers having the HIA package were not happy with being charged the extra Florida sales tax for their beverages during the two days of repairs.

 

On a more joyous note, I had $1100 OBC for the second cruise and another $933 FCC for a future cruise.  My Christmas shopping started early last October.

Really appreciate your information and your ability to collect and share with us.  Getting out my "red pencil" for a slight correction 😁. In the summary of changes at the top, in red, you show Konigsdam with possible dry dock March 15 to April 10, 2025. I hope that's not true since we will be on it in the middle of the Pacific on our way returning to San Diego on the Grand Hawaii/Polynesia Feb 19 to March 22, 2025.  Did you mean 2026, by chance??  Your listing by ship seems to be correct, just not the summary at the top.

 

Again, hope this doesn't sound nit picky as I really appreciate your input.
