Rare OceanCruise Posted June 2 #1 Share Posted June 2 We were very surprised that on the Beyond recently, a real chocolate souffle in a ramekin was served in Luminae one night. It was so warm and delicious (even though it was served with ice cream rather than the usual chocolate or creme anglaise sauce, but we survived🥲). We were told by the waiter that this dessert is only on the menu for "longer than 8 night cruises" but our cruise was 8 nights. He said the chef didn't have the ingredients for the usual dessert so he substituted the souffle. The only other time we have ever had a real souffle on Celebrity was in Murano (years ago) and I believe the only choice there was Grand Marnier, not chocolate. Just curious if the chocolate souffle is actually a regular dessert now in Luminae and if any of the specialty restaurants on Celebrity or Royal Caribbean have a dessert souffle.
jelayne Posted June 2 #2 Share Posted June 2 We had a souffle in Luminae 1 night on our recent cruise. I don't know if it was on the printed menu. We very rarely have dessert so the waiter stopped trying to give us dessert menus. He just made a point to tell us souffle was available that night, in case we wanted to have dessert:)

Rare cruisestitch Posted June 2 #6 Share Posted June 2 Once upon a time, it was not uncommon for soufflé to be the “surprise” dessert available in the MDR. There was a Grand Marnier version and a chocolate version. Haven’t seen it in the main dining room in a long time.
bigbenboys Posted June 3 #7 Share Posted June 3 Our next cruise is at the end of this month on Apex. The current Apex sailing as a Dark Chocolate Soufflé on night 5 in Luminae. Night 9 has The Chocolate Sphere. Another dessert that is served on longer sailings.
padgman1 Posted June 3 #8 Share Posted June 3 On Reflection TA in April 2023, we were served the chocolate souffle as a dessert option on Day 5 or 6 in Luminae. My wife and I were so impressed we made the comment that we could eat this for dessert every night. We were offered this every night thereafter. Wonderful.

We had already had dessert and heard the waiter tell the people at the next table about the souffle. We've never had two desserts before but cruising is all about new experiences. Right?
