Live from the Land of Princess

Recommended Posts

Hi Sweetie,

As always, I pray that all is going well for you.

NCL made an announcement yesterday that in 2026, The Jewel would be homeporting on the East Coast of the United States sailing Bermuda Cruises out of Philadelphia.

BIG BIG BIG BIG HUG

Love and prayers always

That dumbazz in the buffet was such a dumbazz. His wife is probably used to him acting like a dumbazz. (I just fulfilled my quota of dumbazz for the day...OOPS, just did an extra one).

Next time it happens (hopefully there won't be a next time), you could threaten to call Gopher...or Captain Steubing.

I wouldn't have called your behavior disgusting, but maybe the "old, old" man was grazing and wanted to see what all was available?

j/k

I don’t care what he was doing, one does not shove another person, twice!  Do not touch strangers. That is horrible behavior and absolutely no excuse!

j/k ... just kidding, but ..."shove"? - and the OP did state the 'old, old' man didn't even have a plate ... well, did she?  or just blocking the view of anyone else who wanted to see the food and the placard? touching, I agree, is uncalled for, but I would like to review the security footage before passing judgement on the 'old, old' man

Do you know how much I love Reykjavik?  It is expansive! I have been here many times before and have done the Golden Circle, the Blue Lagoon, the Viking museum and the Phallological Museum. I have shopped, done a historical walking tour, fed the ducks, photographed the Prime Minister’s house and enjoyed a waffle.

Shuttles were at the ready this morning and I didn’t have any wait at all. The free shuttle takes passengers from the cruise ship terminal to Harpa.

This is Harpa. It is the conference centre and the concert hall, contains a restaurant, a gift shop and an information station. Today it was also shelter from the raindrops.

No need to review security. My report is accurate. He shoved me.

This is a trip report. Let’s move on and enjoy Iceland.

So the yogurt doesn’t have to be refrigerated in Icleland? Looks like it’s just on a regular store shelf.

I’m curious what Icelandic moss is as well, looks like a chocolate bar packaging??

Yvonne,

I've been following your reports (via NCL) for long enough to know your character (okay, at least your online written persona).

Ignore the detractors and the dissenters.

That old man had NO RIGHT to shove you.  He had NO RIGHT TO TOUCH YOU at all.  It's plain and simple.
Continue with a great trip now!

Something interesting we learned while visiting a Viking Museum in Norway was the fact that Vikings did not wear horns on their helmets. Apparently that came from Opera.

That was a full walk-in refrigerated room within the grocery store. There was a produce room, a meat room and a dairy room in addition to all the regular aisles. I always take a photo of yoghurt in Iceland because it is such a part of the culture.

See what I did there?😂

I hope it involves chocolate...

Yes!

Chocolate is a staple.

When I was going through security back on the Island Princess the security officer was saying “cell phones in the tray, chocolate in my hand.”

I reached into my bag and gave him an Omnom caramel and sea salt milk chocolate bar and he hugged me!
