Halloween Night/Formal Night

Yes, they'll change the formal night to a different one.

Princess generally does Halloween big.

Decorate the ship, a majority of the front facing crew dresses up, cruise staff is all in costumes, costume parade,  trick or treating for the kids, costume content, deck or atrium party depending on whether, some "spooky" cocktails, etc.

Lots and lots of passengers dress up also, everything from T-shirt or mask to super elaborate..    favorites in the past have been the "maitre'd and champagne waterfall" couple - women in gold dress with am array of plastic champagne glasses arranged ina cascade with one on her head while partner wore tux and carried empty champagne bottle to empty into the waterfall. Genius!

I've done Halloween a few times on a ship and at least once was a formal night. There were photographers taking pictures and my DH and I are in formal wear holding a carved pumpkin and making scary faces. Of all my pictures, that one is a favorite.

We were on Caribbean Princess 2 years ago and Halloween was a formal night.

Since they usually don't do formal nights on first night, last night, or nights when the ship is in port at dinner time, there might not be another night available to switch.

Last October there were Waldo's all over the place  (you know, from "Where's Waldo").   I don't know if they were a group or it just worked out that way.   It was a lot of fun.

I’ll be on Ruby on Halloween. Normally that night would be the formal night but since it’s Halloween would they forgo the “formal”?

Well, I guess your costumes could be a ball gown and tux. 🙂

We were on the Princess Regal last year at Halloweenie. A lot of great costumes. I wore knee length Fred Flintstone shirt, but a couple across from us at dinner were in full Fred & Wilma attire. Our mdr server was not their when we were seated with another couple we dined with nightly. She walked up and all 4 said "Pugsley." She was so darn cute.
