This is correct if each of you has an individual internet package, either paid for or part of HIA. The question her is if two people can share a plan for multiple devices, and they can, which would be less expensive per device. 1

I will phone tomorrow and check but when I go to order it charges per person for each plan. We both used my one multiple device plan in December. Two people, 2 phones, 1 tablet and one laptop. It cost less than 2x single device plans. 3

When we were on the Nieuw Statendam in December, you used your Mariner ID & password. By March, it was cabin and birthday. We used multi device on both cruises without issue. It's about five bucks a day extra.

It will be more efficient and way less confusing to you and everyone if you keep to one thread with questions. Thanks! Navybikermom Posted September 20 #40 Share Posted September 20 There was a long thread where we discussed issues texting between iPhone and Android users but I can’t find it now, so I’m going to mention it here. Apple has finally updated their operating system and with iOS 18 you can now text over WiFi to Android users! For the techies out there, it uses RCS instead of SMS/MMS. I tested it by texting my daughter and was able to see the status that says it was delivered and then read, which it never did before. I live in an area where there is little to no cell coverage and I normally can’t text her Android phone (keeps failing). I feel so connected now! So now, you can easily text between Apple and Android phones on the ship’s WiFi! 🥳
Zippercat Posted September 20 #41 Share Posted September 20 For our upcoming 2025 cruises the website only shows Stream and Premium internet packages. Has Surf been discontinued?

Has Surf been discontinued? I believe I’ve seen others mention that Surf is only available with some of the Have It All packages. I have it with my next cruise, which is the “lower” HIA (Surf WiFi, Signature bev pkg, no crew appreciation…). I’ll be upgrading to Premium WiFi as soon as I’m onboard. TintoTeam Posted Thursday at 11:28 PM #43 Share Posted Thursday at 11:28 PM So, being cheapskates, and not wanting to use Internet much, can we use 3 devices (husband's laptop and both of our phones) on a one-person-one-device package, as long as we use same log-in details, and only use one device at any given time? Is the only advantage of the multi-device package the ability to use more than one device simultaneously? Many thanks Barbara

If we don't have a HIA package, we just use the one person, one device at a time internet. After all of these years we've learned to share 😁(sometimes) Edited Thursday at 11:37 PM by Sea42

Yes, although depending on how much the multiple users actually use their devices and how many users there are, the advantage may go a bit beyond 'only'. TintoTeam Posted Thursday at 11:44 PM #46 Share Posted Thursday at 11:44 PM Excellent! Thanks, Sea42. Incidentally, I'm in UK and HIA package for our forthcoming Noordam cruise is £60 per day- ie about $80 per day. We're not drinkers, so not worth it for us.

We only get HIA if we have a lot of sea days like on our upcoming South America trip. For something like our Mediterranean cruise where there are only a few sea days over the 21 days it isn't worth it for us. We probably won't buy the ship's internet for that cruise at all. Many thanks Barbara Just for clarification, when someone attempts to login while another device is already logged in, the one attempting to login has the option to kick the currently logged-in device offline with no notice. Multiple users need to make a deal on usage protocols (priority) to not cause any hardships or disagreements.

I witnessed a loud quarrel between a mother and teenager son who kept disconnecting each others device use. Lesson learned to plan ahead. Although you didn't ask, calls using Whatsapp are excellent. My internet speed from an aft stateroom in e far north Gulf of Alaska varied between 121 and 149 Mbps with VPN use between 21 and 29 Mbps. Fastest speeds were while many passengers were asleep (19:00 PM - 6:00 AM. Best connection locations are near the Guest Services Desk, indoor pool, and the Crows Nest.
