All Things Mariner Of The Seas

Just found the answer about the menus:

Current menu for Chops:

This classic chophouse offers fabulous steak and seafood dishes. It's a great place to celebrate a special occasion, or just another perfect day of vacation

Current menu for Portofino's:

Enjoy a delicious Italian meal in an intimate and romantic setting. From classic Italian dishes to new creations, the menu has something for everyone

Also a bit of information about the thermal suites:

Thermal Suite*

The Thermal Suite is a communal relaxation center that has an ambiance similar to a Turkish Bath. Different grottos and chambers release a variety of dry heat, steam and mists into the air with aromatherapy-filled vapors. Relax on a heated ceramic lounge and allow the pressures of life to rinse away.

Currently how much is Chops and Portofinios on the Mariner? They do have them both correct? And which is better and why. Thanks.

Chops is currently $25 and Portofino is $20. We have gone to both on the Mariner and prefer Portofino to Chops. We thought the filet was better in Portofino and there is a lot more to choose from. It is not your typical red sauce italian place at all. I have linked a recent post with the current menus for both, the seafood skewer in Portofino is excellent too.

We will be on the Mariner in April. We think the formal nights will be: Monday and Friday. The first sea day is typically the 1st formal night. The 2nd formal night should then be Friday. Saturday would be too difficult to have a formal night with everyone getting ready to pack to leave the ship the next morning. Just a theory ... we won't know for sure until they start cruising from San Pedro.

I'm sure someone from the Feb 22 cruise will. There is a big CC group on that cruise.

Why don't you pop into their roll call and make the request.

I would but it wouldn't make sense for me. We leave on Friday February 27th for Long Beach so the first cruise out of LGB will still be happening!

Has anyone actually finished their dessert.

We all ordered the sampler plate and most of us only managed a bite of each.

We also only ordered a pasta dish and a main but there was so much food. The waiters kept coming back asking if we wanted to try something else, but we were just too stuffed.

It was a shame to actually demolish the dessert it was a work of art.:D

Concierge lounge has small selection of beer and wine and basic mixed drinks. Gin, vodka, rum, etc etc with basic mixers. No foo foo. They also have light canapes. Available for grand suites and above and any diamond members. It is open for happy hour 5-8 I think. It is also open in the mornings and has pastries and fruit really early. It also has coffee and a cappuccino machine. Drinks at HH are complimentary but most people do tip at the end of the week.
