Radiance of the Seas.....Past - Present - Future

Recommended Posts

Just returned from a fabulous trip to Alaska on the Radiance! We had corner aft cabin 8168 (pictures coming soon Char) and had some of the best views. Crazy Capt Rune got us so close to Hubbard Glacier I was beginning to wonder if he was going to have enough room to turn around! But once he did boy were we in for a treat - we had a front row seat from our balcony of almost 20 minutes of calving...it was such a sight I can't even put it into words. My husband got everything on video! It was just breathtaking.

We just might have to do this trip again real soon and I really don't think I'd want to do Alaska on any other ship.

Hey~welcome home :D

Alaska IS awesome!! We've been there 5 times...so far :p So happy that the glacier was showing off for you. That is such a spectical of sight and sound!

I'll be watching for your pictures of "our" cabin! I'm sure Hawaii will be wonderful from that vantage point, too.

Since you just returned maybe the Lobby Bar next to guest relations is a bit fresher in your mind....could you give me some description of that area...I've completely forgotten and because our stateroom will be just off this I was hoping it would be a nice place to meet up with friends....

I remember the Champagne bar, the Colony Club , the casino but not thisThank you

Ginny:)

Why do you like these two particular cabins? Care to elaborate.

Those are the cabins next to the elevators with the extended balconies. Good central location with a bigger balcony...:p Also 8088, 8102, 7094, 7108.

Ginny, the Lobby Bar is an excellent place to meet friends. It's on Deck 4 and has lots of comfy couches and chairs in front of and behind and even off to the side. The lighted stairway is off to the right as you are looking at the Lobby Bar. In the evenings, there is always music being performed by either the Rosario Strings or another group usually with a singer. There's a large circular floor in the center where many times you will find couples dancing before or after dinner.

And' date=' it's also a great place to make cell phones call to FRIENDS from ... ;) (especially in Alaska .... )[/font']

Now, is that a hint?? It also depends on your carrier and if you are in a port that your carrier serves in Alaska.

Patricia Patricia Patricia ... it's already HAPPENED! Think back about a month ago (my goodness ... has it really been that long???:o )

I remember that.....I thought you were dropping a hint when WE do Alaska in September. But come to think of it........you'll be on a cruise to New England.

Thanks. I think I now remember it...Is that the one with the green lighted stairs? Also they play the C & A light show across the floor and walls? Ginny:)

Well ... cell phones work from Alaska to NE .... unless we're in Canada (or you're in Canada) ... then it's waaaaay too expensive!

I guess we'll all be out of touch for a couple of weeks ... :(

Can't wait to see the pics either! Sure the Eastern Caribbean will be wonderful as well.

P.S. Haven't packed yet. Am notorious for waiting until the last minute.

P.P.S. Hi, Joan. Good to know that we are going to have great neighbors.

OK - here are some pictures of the interior of cabin 8168 taken 6/29/07. We really enjoyed this cabin - it has a full size couch, some extra shelves on the end of the console that provided a little extra storage space and the new bedding was wonderful.

Sharon, I am glad to hear that "my" cabin will be in such good hands the week before. Hope you have a wonderful cruise. We've done a four day from Galveston to Cozumel on the last weekend in January the last two years and would probably be doing one again had RCI left the Splendour there. (It was a great long weekend getaway for our anniversary.) I have always enjoyed the Western ports and really like the itinerary of the six day Radiance cruise. DD and I just did a mother/daughter cruise together on the Rhapsody in May. DH has never done the Eastern route, so we decided to do something a little different this year.

My husband and I sailed about this beautiful vessel in January. It is WONDERFUL! We thoroughly enjoyed being aboard. The food was fine, staff great and we had interesting table mates at our early sitting. We would definitely sail about her again.

We currently are booked aboard the Grandeur in September and the Independence of the Seas for next June. Can't wait! Lots of cruising coming up!
