RevNeal Posted December 15, 2007 #226 Share Posted December 15, 2007 But, you have to sail on QM2 first. She's one of a kind! ;) Oh, I'm sure I will.
RevNeal Posted December 15, 2007 #227 Share Posted December 15, 2007 I was shocked to read that - nice as QV appears to be - that she has fewer drawerspace in her verandah staterooms, metal and mesh furniture on her verandahs, and no teak on her Promenade Deck!!! AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH! When in trouble, or in doubt, run-in-circles, scream-and-shout!! AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!

Rare Copper10-8 Posted December 21, 2007 Author #229 Share Posted December 21, 2007 Dutch Chairs for a Dutch Cruise Ship William Schuitema poses with an armchair (left), designed by NB-Seattle that will be used in Eurodam’s cabins, the chair in the middle was designed by Frans Dingemans and further developed by Frits Schuitema and used on Zuiderdam, and the art deco chair on the right also was designed by Frits Schuitema and used on Carnival Pride. RuthC Posted December 21, 2007 #230 Share Posted December 21, 2007 Can't say I'm overly fond of the look of the chairs, but they won't be in my house and as long as they do the job they're ok with me. I do love the look of the ceilings! :) Thanks for the pictures, John.
InTheWASide Posted December 21, 2007 #231 Share Posted December 21, 2007 The middle chair is the same as those on Zuiderdam so I DON'T think they'll be on Eurodam. The ones on the left may be some of the stateroom chairs depicted in the concepts of the rooms. On the right... never seen it... but it looks Asian... so maybe the Silk Den Bar or Tamarind? RevNeal Posted December 21, 2007 #233 Share Posted December 21, 2007 The middle chair is the same as those on Zuiderdam so I DON'T think they'll be on Eurodam. It's also the same as the dining room chairs aboard the Oosterdam, Westerdam, and Noordam. Given that the Signature Class ship (i.e., Eurodam) is just an upgraded Vista, I don't see why that middle chair won't be in the dining room aboard the Eurodam. InTheWASide Posted December 22, 2007 #234 Share Posted December 22, 2007 Hi greg, I meant that same design and pattern. Noordam is more yellow: Oosterdam (Can't find a picture) has a beige and red criss cross pattern on the backs, with red seats Westerdam has a copper/yellow seat with a a black/grey over yellow pattern on the back) I understand the DESIGN is the same and only fabrics have changed but we have now seen two concepts for the dining room that show a different SHAPE of chair... One is above (btw, I had posted the pictures of the dining room and atrium concepts MONTHS ago in a long since buried thread) and the other (which I also posted previously) is here:
InTheWASide Posted December 22, 2007 #235 Share Posted December 22, 2007 Didn't post for some reason. Trying again... Since both indicate the same design (but different than the Vistas) I would imagine that this is a new chair for the Eurodam
sail7seas Posted December 22, 2007 #236 Share Posted December 22, 2007 I love that chair on the right! Enjoyed reading the piece about the chair makers that is on the Blog.
RevNeal Posted December 22, 2007 #237 Share Posted December 22, 2007 Hmmm ... interesting. The two sketches of the dining room show chairs that look a little more like the seats in the main dining room aboard the Volendam and the Zaandam. The blog itself indicates that the chair in the middle is from the Zuiderdam.
RevNeal Posted December 22, 2007 #238 Share Posted December 22, 2007 Hi greg, I meant that same design and pattern. Oh ... you mean the material of and design on the upholstery and back covering. The chair structure is still same chair structure on all the Vistas. It would appear they're going to use a completely different chair design on the Eurodam. jhannah Posted December 28, 2007 #239 Share Posted December 28, 2007 Check out the Eurodam Blog. The dining room has risers all around to elevate the tables next to the windows.
x lindsay x Posted December 28, 2007 #240 Share Posted December 28, 2007 Check out the Eurodam Blog. The dining room has risers all around to elevate the tables next to the windows. I just noticed this on the blog. How does everyone feel about this? Will it obscure the view of those tables not directly next to the windows? jhannah Posted December 28, 2007 #241 Share Posted December 28, 2007 Good question. Probably not by much, but with the table being farther above the bottom of the window there will be some blockage of view.
jhannah Posted January 31, 2008 #242 Share Posted January 31, 2008 Remember seeing pictures of all those dials, screens, levers, buttons, and toggle switches on the bridge consoles?
