Any Activity suggestions for non drinkers?

Google "carnival funtimes", then select "images" to see typical daily schedules of activities on many different ships. There are generally multiple activities going on all day long and the activities are varied. Or really splurge/go nuts and try a blue moon martini.

No, it's not true that the entertainment doesn't start until 10 pm. I believe on most ships, the comedy starts early...maybe even as early as 6 or 6:30, and definitely by 7. There are two shows in the main lounge on most nights, one early and one late. Entertainment in the bars usually starts around 7 as well.

As a non-drinker, don't be afraid to go into the bars. There is no expectation or requirement that you drink anything in the bars. In fact, I don't think I have ever ordered a drink in the evening at any of the bars. The waiters will come around and ask you if you want something to drink at first, but it doesn't take them long to know that you aren't going to drink, so they'll stop asking. So whatever sort of entertainment in the evening that you think sounds like fun, feel free to go and do.

I agree, try to find a copy of a fun times for your ship here or elsewhere ahead of time so that you have at least some idea of what you may want to do. It may not be exactly the same as your sailing, but it at least gives some ideas.

Hi,

What ship will you be on?? We have been on some ships where much of the music starts late but there are other activities that are earlier.

There should be a comedy club and some sort of show that will be on earlier in the evening. There is a casino too. Some ships have an outdoor movie to watch.

We don't spend our days/nights drinking either! We may have one drink but it is not an "activity" for u. You are not the only one that won't be drinking.

I agree with the others. We have a couple of drinks per cruise, but do not drink a lot. There are comedy shows, bingo ($$,) trivia, movies out on deck - usually, casino, mini golf, water slide, spa, fitness room & many other things to occupy yourself with. If you like music, like someone else said, no alcohol is required to enjoy the music.

there are alot of things to do during the day. trivia, crafts, sports, silly competitions, swimming, yu wont be able to do everything you see on the funtimes that you want to . the shows usually have an early show for those with late dining and a later show for those with early dining, or the late dinners get a real late show. if you do any time dining you can choose what time to eat so you can see whatever show you want

There are plenty of things to do on a ship all day long that don't include drinking. There are trivia games, bingo, live music, the casino, dance classes, swimming, working on your tan, and my favorite...people watching  lol! There is definitely entertainment well before 10. Some of the shows start as early as 6 or 7. While I do drink a few drinks while I'm on the ship, it is not my form of entertainment and I'm never bored.

Check out the pier runners with your favorite non alcoholic drink in hand as you disembark from each port stop. The best ones are those that need to be placed in a wheelchair and pushed because they are that inebriated.

I've seen drunken fools embarking but never disembarking at 8, 9 or 11am.

I would like to see that.

Yes, lots and lots to do. You didn't say what ship you are looking at but I've attached one day of the "Fun Times" for one of our port days. I noticed that there was more to do during the day on "sea days" even above what you see on these. The earlier shows tend to be a little tamer (you will see the "PG" rating on the early comedy show for example). The trivia was fun, a lot more fun than I thought it would be. AND we went out to watch the sunset each day which is a favorite activity for us. We learned about watching the "runners" which are those coming back to the ship right at the last minute. A lot of folks were watching and as they came running up you would here the cat calls (all in fun I must say). There was so much to do honestly we didn't get to several of the things we wanted to do and it was not for trying

There's so much to do on a cruise. From morning until night, there are exercise classes, organized games, grab a lounge chair, port outings, you can go to work out at the gym on your own, read, & all the stuff already mentioned. Bring a book if you like to read, there's nothing like finding a nice spot to tuck yourself away on a cruise & enjoy your book. I only had one drink on my last cruise, it was a transpacific so a long cruise. Bring a highlighter to help you keep track of what activities you want to try, plan the night before when you get the Funtimes so you don't miss anything that looks good for the next day.

We also don't drink. We love going to the piano bar and hanging out at a table there with a diet coke. There is so much to do on a cruise. Between ports, shows, contests, fitness center, casino, eating, or just sitting reading a book - I am sure you will not be bored!

I haven't had a drink in years and cruising is my favorite thing to do! I stay up a lot later on a cruise than at home. I love going to the bars and ordering my favorite all time drink, blue dolphin on the rocks (ice water)! There is so much to do and so little time. Some people say you don't have to do everything. I sure try! I usually need a vacation after my vacation.

To tell you true, I can't think of ANY activities that require alcohol. Mind you, alcohol flows in many endeavors on the ship.

If you don't imbibe, so be it!

this is what I was thinking... there is nothing I can think of that requires alcohol...ALL activities that I remember does not need alcohol

Glad to see we aren't the only non-drinkers cruising [emoji4]. DH and I don't drink at all and took our first cruise in December. We loved it and I'm already planning to book another.

We had early seating for dinner and then we watched shows in the theatre, sat in the piano bar with a soda, went to a comedy show, and/or watched a movie on the deck under the stars.

We don't drink much and we stay busy all day. Especially if you get in from a port and watch the sail off or hang by the pool til dinner hour. By the time you get showered and eat dinner, your night goes fast. The comedy shows always played 2x and it wasn't that late for me, I love going to bed early.

So glad to see same thing too,,,we have morphed into a group that does not drink often and the older I get..I want calories from food and I do not sleep well with alcohol......Love the Blue Dolphin Ice water name noted..and mixing tea and lemonade and bringing some of your favorite teas or water flavors if you do not drink much soda is great option,,,,can make your own fresh ice tea with a cup and then fill glass with ice and voila, always avbx at Lido,...lots of folks bring their favorite stay hot or cold designer (lol) mugs. Real relaxing without alcohol is the deepest r and r ..I really enjoy a massage or spa treatment,,,save on alcohol so go for it, if you would enjoy, they usually advertise reduced rates of a 3 service things, like head, neck and feet massage etc( just say no kindly about all the extra lotions and potions and say you will tip and most will leave you alone on that......there is not the pressure like there used to be to drink and you will gravitate to those who drink very lightly or not at all and will not be alone...you will perhaps see drunk folks but not tons and tons of them...week or longer are far less booze cruises. Enjoy.

What some of us love most about cruising is that you can do as much or as little as you like. I remember having a total of three drinks on my last Carnival cruise and one was free.

There are so many choices listed in each day's schedule that trying to do them all would be anything but relaxing. Watching the huge orange sun pop up on the horizon, or sink below it, is magical. So is reading in a quiet spot on deck.

There are scheduled activities all day, every day. Just choose what interests you, relax and enjoy.

Alcohol has not passed my lips in well over 27 years and I have never had trouble finding fun things to do in any environment I have ever been in. I can't tell you how many cruises I have been on (seems some folks need to include every time they post) but that number is totally meaningless to me, I can guarantee if alcohol was a prerequisite to having fun on a cruise I would have quit after one.
