So I'm sitting at Fairfield Inn FLL using their upgraded internet that Gold and above get for free

 

It shows

Ping 6ms

Download 9.68

Upload 9.88

 

what does that show so, I can compare while onbaord

That ping speed is typical for land based internet, but will be over 100 for satellite.

Even for real Voom I would expect ping in the 300+ ms range while a non Voom connection to be 800+ ms .

Any download speed above 1 MBs is likely to be a real Voom connection.

Oh OK didn't no that

Even for real Voom I would expect ping in the 300+ ms range while a non Voom connection to be 800+ ms .

220KBs is not too bad - might be enough for WiFi calls.

Something weird going on there - you sure that wasn't 1189 for the ping? The downlaod speed suggests old Interent but that ping is very good.

Could it be local tower? since we are still in port delayed due to medical emercency
