@NextOne It would be wonderful to see a lilac blooming at this time of year. I'm no expert, but I would not fertilize the lilac at this time of year. Fertilizers tend to push out lots of leaves and you don't really want that after a stressful summer. I would make sure it gets enough water going into winter and see how it does next spring. It may not flower. Make sure it does not go under water stress and things will be back to normal soon. It probably would be okay to prune now, but you could wait until after the normal blooming period in the spring. 🤞

Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet and Daily Report. Happy Saturday of a holiday weekend for many of us. Another nice summer day here in Southern Ontario. Should get up to 30C (86F), with the humidity it will feel much hotter. Bertie and I had a nice quiet walk before it gets too hot. Haven't been to a Cinema in years. Football fans love Tailgating (not the driving offence Graham referred to, but a party in the parking lot before a game). No skyscrapers in my little town. Love the quote, I'll have to remember that. I know if I offered my friend a free cruise, she wouldn't accept. She might say she's afraid of being seasick, but in actuality, she wouldn't want to accept such an expensive gift. She would say she's not a "charity case" and if she wanted a cruise, she'd buy her own.

Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet and Daily Report. We had rain overnight and a showers when Bertie and I had our first walk of the day. Already 21C (69F) and supposed to get to 24C (75F) this afternoon but with the humidex it will feel hotter. Showers off and on today, so I don't think I will be doing much outside, hope I have a good book. Interesting days, some thoughtful, some fun. We all have grief to deal with. Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet and Daily Report. It's hot and humid already this morning. It's forecast to get to 28C (82F) but with the humidex it will feel like 36C (97F). Quite a change from a few days ago when it was only 7C (45F) in the morning. We've got a chance of thunderstorms this afternoon. The rain will be welcome, but not the lightning and thunder. An interesting collection of days. Bats eat a lot of mosquitoes (hooray!). I try to use less salt and more herbs when I cook. I wish motorists would be more considerate. Love the quote.
