  1. But as Jean says, most TAs give you their discount after their original, normally P&Os base price, quote.
  2. If you signed up for auto renewal, they should advise you before renewal date of the new quote.
  3. When booking shows you do it by cabin and book(or more) for both persons.
  4. You may be right, but knowing how inept the P&O IT dept are, I just wonder if they even know what a VPN is, and how to prevent a Canadian from accessing their feeble system.😁😇
  5. On P&O you can only choose your cabin on a select booking, the saver or early saver are both guarantee, where you can choose your location but not the actual cabin. On a select booking when choosing your cabin type, scroll down till you see choose your cabin, it will then allow you to choose your location and then it will show any different prices for each deck, choose the deck then it will select a cabin for you, if you then press the down button against that selection it should take you to the available cabins in that area. It is far more slow and clunky process than Princess but unless you are seeing only a cut down version, then I hope the above helps you.
  6. Our Canadian relatives booked via our online TA when they joined us on a Ventura cruise back in 2018, and if you have done your research, they will find you the best cabin in the location you prefer.
  7. But a 2 year wait before our cruise, let's just hope the cost of living crisis and Putins war are a distant memory by then.
  8. Everyone complaining about too much rain, seems like only 6 weeks ago we were complaining about a potential drought!😉
  9. Maybe he was naughty on one of the other fora (forums) he frequents.
  10. Sue, Arvia will be doing Med cruises next summer.
  11. Evidence please that these tests are not acceptable, otherwise it is only your interpretation, which with all due respect is no better than mine.
  12. Do you have hard evidence that these tests are not accepted by insurance companies, or are you just relying on the text on an insurance policy? Since insurance companies always defer to their interpretation of the policy terms, its possible that they may accept a proctored test from a reliable testing service.
  13. Possibly because the PCR test is more accurate.
  14. Not sure that I understand the first comment about being stupid if you intend to be dishonest. I doubt that either mandatory or non mandatory testing would result in a significant reduction in bookings. Even though I do have sympathy with the cruise lines as they try to recover from the drastic losses they suffered during the pandemic, I cannot agree that sensibly denying boarding for passengers who are very likely to be infectied with covid or noro, should not be given a full FCC for the cost of their lost holiday, especially where insurers won't cover these losses.
  15. I hear this comment many times and cannot see how that makes booking trips before you cruise more advantageous, especially if you end up with unused OBC.
  16. Well initially there were no LFTs, but if you had the symptoms you went for a PCR test, however you stayed in your vehicle and the test kit was passed to you through an open window. There were also walk in test centres, which were probably even more likely to put the testers at risk.
  17. We now always use the buffet for a breakfast, some lunches and an occasional dinner, and never been affected by Noro over a similar period.
  18. Although I do follow the dress code, and prefer the MDRs to the buffet for dinner, I do sympathise with the weight issue for fly cruises. However we always took formal wear when we did fly cruises, so it can be done without compromising any casual outfits.
  19. Randox would post your test kit for next day delivery, you can mail it back the same day, so you should still be positive.
  20. There are far worse places to visit than the canary islands, the only problem I have with Lanzarote, is that the shuttle now drops you off in the marina complex, leaving you with twice the distance from the ship into the town centre than used to be the case.
  21. Gosh Graham that steak would make both of us a meal for two days!!!
  22. It's not been open on either our June cruise on Britannia or October on Iona. Whether or not it will return is equally as unknown as the return of the evening turn down service.
  23. Another red wine drinker here, red wine, I find, is usually far less dry and acidic than white, I love a fruity cabernet sauvignon which for me goes with just about any meal.
  24. Very true, but I have to confess I would not want to have to give up any of our current essential luxuries either. So I do understand why the younger generation would find it difficult to do without them as well.
  25. It's a few years since we last went on med hotel holidays, but I seem to remember that most of them had something missing from the stated features in he holiday brochure. The tour rep would just shrug her shoulders and tell you the tennis courts had not been available all summer, or the secluded beech walk had been overgrown for years, to which we shrugged our shoulders and did something else.
