  1. But when giving in to one passengers comfort zone results in passengers, who are following the new system correctly, having their comfort zone compromised, is not the way to getting any new system accepted.
  2. The reason for that is that the flights are scheduled and not charter, so you can readily pick your return time, and not leave an empty charter seat.
  3. I am fairly certain I have auto update switched on but will give it a nudge next time I turn on the laptop. But my Epson wi fi printer updates also my WD back up hard drive updates, still keep coming through.
  4. I would be quite happy for the MDR virtual queuing to continue, but only if they stop operating a 2 or 3 tier system with non booking lanes and pagers. AND no pre booking of tables other than for large family groups in excess of 8 people.
  5. That was always the case, and attracting the attention of a sleepy wine waiter could take forever, but your table waiters are reasonably frequent visitors, so you caneasily order another drink.
  6. I am still on windows 10, which was itself an upgrade from an earlier version, but my laptop is now 13 yrs old and only used for spreadsheets and word, so not switched on often. However I have noticed a significant reduction in windows updates, so presumably MS are not maintaining as well as their newer versions.
  7. I have found it is now faster to get drinks ordered, your waiter takes the order, and it is prepared by another waiter, the brought to your table by your table waiter, it was much slicker than waiting for the wine waiter to eventually to take your order.
  8. I assume that you would not be permitted to use the tender.
  9. Personally, although it is my wife who has the disability, I don't have any issue with the step test, wherever it is done. What I do have an issue with, is why don't all cruise ships have the same switchback ramp facility for tender boarding that Independence of the seas has, as well as using shoreside tenders with roll on roll off facilities. That way there is no need at all for a step test, because everybody, including electric scooters and chairs get to go ashore.
  10. Moley, despite having completed disability questionnaires for our 2024 and 2025 cruises, I have still received these e-mails for them. Do you know if P&O are wanting us to re-submit the forms via the on-line version, or are they happy with the existing ones?
  11. It's possibly a bit shortsighted of P&O to assume that the next older generation will not have the same leaning towards dancing, bridge and handicrafts that the currents ones do. Assuming they still want to appeal to all generations then maybe they need to re-think and reconsider.
  12. If I were a tadpole, or any of the other wondrous insect larvae that live in these exotic locations, I could become very upset and paranoid at being linked to such obnoxious people. 😇
  13. I would hope that the comment about speed of return to your cabin, has been taken out of context. Because in a real emergency the lifts would be out of action and the stairs would be very crowded, and there would be very little room for those requiring an evacuation chair. And what has become of the recomendation that if you cannot return to your cabin to collect your lifejacket, then you should go direct your muster station? Which as a wheelchair user would seem the most sensible action, and save possibly 2 long journeys in an evacuation chair, as opposed to probably one short journey to the muster station.
  14. Sorry if my comment upset you Moley, I was merely stating my view that if TUI had had more long haul aircraft available, then P&O would probably have contracted for them.
  15. The crystal room had a very good group with an excellent vocalist playing for the evening dancing during Britannias first season. But it seems to have suffered from P&Os cutbacks since then.
  16. Not over booking, just a last minute new charter partner because TUI dont have enough long haul aircraft available. The planes being used are Airbus A330s, which have full catering and inflight catering and drinks service, but no in flight entertainment.
  17. But even though these are P&O charter flights the final allocation of seats is the responsibility of the airline, and they know full well the rules and regulations. So even with a family there is no need to pre book, and the check in staff will do their best to seat you together, or at the very least the children should be seated with one parent.
  18. So it's not the ship that concerns you, but the clientele??
  19. Maybe one of our mathematicians could calculate the revenue difference between economy and PE, so we can see whether the premium P&O are charging is really needed or is just profiteering.
  20. Do they state the formal nights on the itinerary on line, or am I confusing that with Princess.
  21. I am looking forward to seeing how we compare Iona's Caribbean 35 nighter, to previous Ventura ones we have done. The length of the cruise the number of sea days, and the hot weather always made Ventura seem more laid back and relaxing, I am hoping for the same feeling on Iona. Clearly P&O must believe it's a winner, otherwise they would not have included another one in the winter 26 programme.
  22. I would still wait until you have boarded, and if there is room for the cot somewhere other than between the single beds, then I imagine your cabin steward will be prepared to reinstate the queen bed.
  23. If you study the full schedule, I think there are some occasions when there are consecutive cruises to the eastern Med giving you 14nts.
  24. All the water on board is filtered either after desalination or when it is pumped on board from the port facilities, and I don't believe that any of the water dispensers in the buffet do anything other than chill the water.
