  1. I'm looking forward to dressing up in my fancy duds in two weeks. Only time I get to. It's fun.
  2. We're on Wonder in two weeks. Could care less about the entertainment except the ice shows are usually pretty good.
  3. That's a good idea. The wheel was invented so people didn't have to carry things.
  4. We just took National Express bus. Cheap and runs often.
  5. Dolphin Mall? Don't waste your time, seriously! If you want a mall, go to Sawgrass Mills. It's huge and there's 10 times more to do there and closer than Dolphin Mall. Don't know about any luggage lockers though - never seen any there. Everyone in the US expects a tip. You'll get attitude, especially in Florida, if you don't tip.
  6. We always like Smith & Wolensky since it's right on the ship canal at the very south tip of South Beach. There's always Joe's Stone Crab but getting in there will cost you time and money if at all. Reservations are a must and usually weeks in advance. There are too numerous places to mention with sidewalk dining right on Ocean Drive, across from Lummus Park.
  7. Because I have time to waste and I was responding to the OP.
  8. Why would you reconsider your booking on Prima based on what a bunch of total strangers who you have no idea what their tastes and wants are? Why don't you just go and find out for yourself? We're booked for next July on Prima and I don't really care what other people think of the ship.
  9. Personally, I'd pay the extra money to stay at the Intercontinental for reasons too numerous to list.
  10. I worked in downtown Miami for 13 years, on Biscayne Blvd. I wouldn't leave my car in ANY off site parking facility around the port unless you drive an old beater than no one would want. So many cars get broken into in those lots and the security they claim watches the lots is virtually nonexistent. Park at the port! All the parking garages are right there. You drop your luggage, go park and walk back to the ship. No hassle and worth every penny.
  11. Our last few cruises have been out of Port Canaveral. We have not experienced any kind of traffic, waiting times or crowds. Maybe we've been lucky (but we also don't cruise during the holidays). We're leaving from there next month as well. It's such a far cry from the crowds at Pt Everglades and POM.
  12. If you're cruising out of Miami in Sept of 2023, it'll be nice weather except for the occasional hurricane that comes through. There are no 'inexpensive' hotels in Miami, even for one night. If I had to choose, I'd pick something in the Brickell Area. Close by the port and near the Metromover. I also like the Intercontinental but it by no means is inexpensive but it's right on the bay and you can see the cruise ships if you're on the bay side high enough up. But, there's always the Holiday Inn on Biscayne Blvd right near the entrance to the cruise port and just across from Bayfront Marketplace. And YVE although many have said the rooms are super tiny. Haven't stayed there myself but have walked past it many times before it was YVE.
  13. Jungle Island is on the MacAuthur Causeway next to the cruise port (but on the other side of the road from the ships). They used to be in south Miami on Red Road and were called Parrot Jungle for years before they sold the land and moved right near the entrance to the Dodge Island tunnel. They have good animal shows. The Miami Childrens Museum is just across the highway from them and of course, Miami Beach is at the opposite end of the McArthur Causeway. If you have a day to kill, good places to go.
  14. Don't let one crazy 'entitled' person ruin your day or your cruise. Just think what a miserable life that woman must lead. Just laugh at her and ruin HER cruise.
  15. Again, what an absolutely gorgeous ship! We're signed up for shore excursions in each port next July but I could easily just stay on the ship from the looks of BirdTravels photos!
  16. We've never had a delay in getting in or out of Port Canaveral, which is why we prefer sailing from there. Our latest cruise, we were on I 95 at 8am. We'll see what happens next month but I wouldn't spend two minutes even thinking about it.
  17. We're on Prima next July and the excitement is already making us crazy. So we booked a cruise for next month to hold us over (but not on Prima, which we originally had done).
  18. OP admits to making mistake but it RCL's fault for not getting their money back right away. Check.
  19. You should probably post your question under the Ports of Call area of Cruise Critic. There's a section for South America. Lots of info on there.
  20. Here in Florida, there's only one sure fire cure for seasickness.....hug a palm tree.
  21. We had fabulous food in the Windjammer on Mariner OTS. Going on Wonder OYS seas next month. We've never had 'bad' food in the Windjammer on any Royal ship. One person may hate the food and the next love it. If I don't have to cook it, I love it. Too many picky eaters on CC.
  22. We've never had a back up going into or out of Port Canaveral. Traffic flow is very efficient. Wonder is docked next to George King Blvd. There's a traffic light into the parking area. You'll be on the ship in no time.
  23. We were on deck 8 on Radiance almost 10 years ago. We had no problem with the adjoining room door. Never heard our neighbors. Don't worry about it.
