  1. We stayed at the Hampton Inn & Suites Port Canaveral Cruise Port this past June and it was wonderful! Right near the port, new hotel, still had that 'new' smell to it. You can reserve a room on the port side too - great view of the ships from the upper floors. Free hot breakfast. We liked it so much that we're staying there again next January.
  2. We were just departing Harmony in Pt Canaveral on the morning of a launch and Hwy 528/A1A was lined with sheriffs and cop cars with their lights flashing all the way to I 95. No one was allowed to stop or even slow down even after we got onto I 95. They keep the port clear. We did see the launch from our mirror on I 95, which was cool. We went to Cape Canaveral maybe 10 years ago because a NASA employee gave us a pass so we were 5 miles from the launch pad. When that rocket blasted off, it's amazing how the ground shakes that far away. Lifetime memory.
  3. Radiance of the Seas. We did an Australia cruise and it was magnificent. Loved everything about it but the Windjammer on Radiance was a cut above all others because of the layout and the variety. We didn't eat in the MDR because we liked WJ so much on Radiance. That gleaming white ship in each port was amazing.
  4. Wow, makes me hungry just reading the MDR menu. We don't 'do' specialty restaurants (even though we have 2 nights specialty with our package next July) because the food in the MDR is very much to our liking. Why pay extra when we get such good food included? But, we also don't go on a cruise just to eat although our favorite saying on board is 'time to go back to the trough'.
  5. I've been watching the live stream for an hour and 45 minutes now and.....boring!!! I had to leave a couple of times because it was just blah, blah, blah to me. That awful long haired male 'singer'.....good grief! Where did they dig him up from? Katy Perry was awful. What's with the mushroom get up? Fungus among us. And that rubber bathing suit she's wearing with the tops of the trousers missing, yikes. Sorry, I guess I expected too much. We're going on Prima next July but I hope this 'christening' doesn't doom the ship.
  6. We were on Mariner in June. Nothing in the 'cooler' (NOT a fridge!!!) and they do NOT stock them. Waste of space actually. Our room steward told us to put our ice bucket in there at night so it would last longer. The ice melted half way thru the night.
  7. Don't worry about how other people get their results. The point is the cruise line wants people to take responsibility for their own actions and not show up for a cruise if they are positive. Most people going on cruises are done with the testing and masking and fear that the gubmint tried to instill in everyone.
  8. We were there this past June. Labadee is a scaled down version of CocoCay. It was roasting hot when we were there but it seems quite a few people loved riding the zip line down. It was in constant use. There are beach chairs everywhere and the water is gorgeous. I just had knee surgery in April and the kind 'porters' with beach wheelchairs took me all the way back to the ship as the walk back was too far for me.
  9. I think your best bet would be to try talking to a rep again. Emails tend to go into outer space. Try calling later in the week and not first thing in the morning. I've never had a problem getting thru to a rep as long as it's not Monday morning.
  10. Why anyone would want to eat gator is beyond me......but the restaurants that do only offer gator bites. That's enough to turn you off on gator.
  11. We parked at the terminal 5 port in June. They charge your credit card when you leave. But.....we were almost the first car on the road towards I 95 within 10 minutes of walking off the ship. Location, location, location.
  12. Why don't you just go onto the NCL website and read the most up to date information? No need to yell and get your blood pressure up. It's a cruise, after all.
  13. I always take wipes and disinfectants with me. Why not? Not hurting anyone. I don't know who was in my room before me and what their habits were. The room stewards wipe things down with the same dirty cloth. I don't think that's me being a germophobe since there's nothing wrong with being overly cautious in this day and age. I used to bring a big container of Lysol wipes (pre Covid) then donate the rest of the wipes to the room steward, who was always glad to have them. Now, I just bring a small pack of wipes and plastic bags to put the TV remote in. I wipe down the telephone, the door handles, the shower and any place that the room steward probably doesn't have time to wipe down. A few minutes prior to unpacking is all it takes. No big deal. We've never gotten sick on or after a cruise so yes, OP you can bring Lysol spray and are probably smart to do so.
  14. Epicurean Fine Wines is at 115 NE 2nd Ave, a few blocks from the Holiday Inn.
  15. I would venture that the cost for transport from MIA would pretty much eat up any savings in your plane fare. It's 28 miles from Miami to Ft Lauderdale. If it were me, I'd just pay the extra money to fly to Ft Lauderdale, especially with the horrible traffic between the two cities.
  16. Yuck. I hate Coke. Pepsi for me all the way. I'll stick to water if Coke is the only soda. Coke tastes like battery acid but it does do a good buff job on a 1955 Chevy.
  17. We're also on Prima next summer, flying to London and returning from Reykjavik. Maybe we're on the same cruise? (July?) Check the roll call section for your specific sailing. Going to be an awesome cruise!
  18. I would give the guy (or gal) who brings your breakfast a little something. They are on the ships for months and sometimes don't even know where they are. A couple of dollars or euros.
  19. We took National Express bus to Southampton and stayed at the Holiday Inn, right on the water front. Will do the same next year.
  20. Probably not. We have a cabin on deck 11. Out of 36 prior cruises, only one cruise had noise above us because we were under the running track and all we could hear very early every morning was , thump -thump-thump from the runners above us.
  21. There are many restaurants right around the Intercontinental, at Bayside Market Place that can be easily reached via the wide sidewalk along the waterfront (not even a city block away). There are quite a few outdoor seating areas at Bayside. There aren't too many areas in Miami that would be difficult to push a wheelchair but the Brickell area is a high traffic area but still doable.
  22. NCL can keep the same menu in the MDR every day if they want. Nothing will make me want to go to their 'specialty restaurants' which, in my opinion, are rip offs just to get your money. Oh wait.....one of the perks on our Prima cruise next summer is a 'promo dining package'. Guess I'll have to eat my words (ha, ha, see what I did there? LOL!)
  23. I signed in just now with no problem. When ever I have problems like the OP has, I switch to a different search engine and that usually fixes everything.
  24. All types of sunscreens are always available in Florida. I can't imagine any time of the year without it.
  25. I agree. I couldn't understand a word any of the crew said, which was embarrassing. Having to ask our waiter to repeat something 2 or 3 times, good grief! I think having to wear a mask (or two as we saw in some cases) is awful, especially with their effectiveness (which I won't discuss since that would invite a post removal).
