From the water taxi you go up escalators then it is now a new covered walkway with some travelators. Travelator… walk… travelator … walk… then down escalators into the terminal. Takes about 10 minutes. As you are elderly have you factored actually getting in and out of the boat 🚤? Why don’t you take the aero bus from Piazzale Roma which will drop you tight outside the airport terminal?

This hotel is just two small bridges away from PR, so very easy to access the aero bus to the airport. The bus to the airport will drop you outside the terminal door. A motoscarfi will cost €140 to the airport. You will still then need to walk from the water dock to the terminal - at least 10 mins but there are some travelators. As you admit you aren’t a “ spring chicken” you also need to consider physically getting in and out of the motor taxi!!! Not easy! I’d take the bus. If it’s wet/windy the motoscarfi is not as glamorous as it seems!

@lucymorgan There is a silver lounge and a gold lounge. Not sure what tier you are? Pinnacles can go in either. Silver dining is an upmarket windjammer buffet while the Gold dining is a set menu served to your table (as in Coastal Kitchen). The silver lounge is where the evening drinks and nibbles are served (used by Diamond Plus and above).

Given you have to hand your card over in the lounge to pay for drinks ( using your vouchers) they will soon spot she is not of the required status. Unless you just use your 5 vouchers then leave (which is not encouraging or condoning her illegal entry!)

I find the Edge ships akin to being in a very upmarket over stylised boutique hotel; without a comfortable chair in sight! Everything is just sooo perfect to look at; but too much bland colours, and there aren’t enough bars! The IVs are little more than an OV. I went on Apex twice because I couldn’t believe how much I disliked the ship the first time round!! That said; the 4 dining room concept is great, and the only decent cabins are SVs. Stick with Odyssey. Get a starboard side room for the sun on an eastbound TA.
