  1. If your casual/first time cruiser is looking for a cruise vacation and all else being equal, seeing "you don't need to take a test" on Carnival or NCL's website for that 7 night cruise is going to be an easy tiebreaker to eliminate RC. RC has to change its tune soon.
  2. Yes. This is basically extending NextCruise benefits up to 30 days after your cruise. Expires this month though.
  3. Sure, but also add tests for all other common diseases that are spread among large groups. Otherwise why single out covid?
  4. Just like the good ole days when people got colds and roamed the ship and no one cared.
  5. If you have a booster you're fine. The 270 days is if you haven't yet had a booster.
  6. It makes sense when the CDC finally admits natural immunity is a thing and says vax and unvax should be treated the same, all the while still lumping cruise lines in the same bucket with prisons and nursing homes for testing
  7. Nor would you have access to the cabin area anyway since the firewall doors will be closed
  8. It's a shame no case of covid has ever been found on land. Only cruise ships.
  9. I prefer to make my own (when crab meat doesn't cost an arm an a leg)
  10. Yeah, well at my current cruising pace I'll be Pinnacle in 2041. So take that!
  11. This guy definitely wasn't keeping to himself. Must be someone else. If he's been sailing since 1994 he can thank his parents for taking him on lots of cruises.
  12. Special needs is good if you need something on board ship that RC wouldn't normally stock or have available. And even if you do get things on the radar of Special Needs, you always should go right to the MDR and talk to them the minute you board the ship.
  13. In June they honored a couple for reaching Pinnacle. Their first RC cruise? 2018. Actually I may have have seen this "kid" before. Ran his business on a cruise ship (and was even soliciting clients on board).
  14. Some Caribbean countries still have vaccine requirements for entry, but do any have test requirements?
  15. It's been over 10 years now so I don't remember specifics, but it wasn't a specific trigger food (other than the usual gluten/high fiber/etc stuff to avoid), but some supplements (I remember Cat's Claw was one, as well as turmeric) and some non traditional produce in the American market (like celery root and mung beans) After about 6 months of this regimen the nutritionist suggested the random pains she was getting from otherwise everyday foods was gone. Of course still the same predictable issues with certain foods, but no guess work anymore as to what causes issues.
  16. Ours is 10 and we let him explore on his own some but only for brief periods. You'll see plenty of teenagers out and about on their own and for the most part all are well behaved.
  17. Yet neither country has any covid restrictions anymore.
  18. Unfortunately cruising has always been lumped in with nursing homes and prisons as congregate settings, so it never is lumped into "most community settings" Fortunately the CDC said updated guidance for congregate settings is coming soon.
  19. imitation crab is basically a fish Slim Jim
  20. They had a section to optionally upload booster proof in the app since April/May
  21. Depends on the beer. I think the general trend (based on one person's observations) is that if it comes in cans (even if it also comes in bottles) they'll stock the cans. But some only distribute in bottles, they'll have bottles, too
